Information icon Hi Nlmgray! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor at William E. Harmon Foundation that may not have been. "Minor edit" has a very specific definition on Wikipedia—it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Please see Help:Minor edit for more information. Thank you. Information icon Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give a page a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into Bert Spielvogel. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases for registered users, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. Thank you. Liz Read! Speedy deletion nomination of Louise Fleming

[edit]

Hello Nlmgray,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Louise Fleming for deletion, because it's a redirect from an article title to a namespace that's not for articles.

If you don't want Louise Fleming to be deleted, you can contest this deletion, but don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks!

A tag has been placed on Wikipedia:Sylvia Cummins Betts requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section R3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a recently created redirect from an implausible typo or misnomer, or other unlikely search term.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. List of female film and television directors

[edit]

Re your edit of 00:53, 30 March 2025: please do not remove the sources for names that do not have a Wikipedia bio article. The Talk page notice advisory states: "Names that do not have a Wikipedia biography must be supported with published reliable sources that confirm they are film and/or television directors, or else they cannot be included in the list. Please read "user-generated content" for sources that are not acceptable." Additionally, when the Visual and Source editing screens are opened, the following instruction appears at the top of each alphabetical section: "Names without a Wikipedia biography must include reliable sources per WP:VERIFY and WP:NOR." Thanks. Pyxis Solitary (yak). 05:42, 31 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the note! I realized my error after I made it (the fact the entries are broken up into 2 separate fields confused me when I was trying to add in), but I didn't know how to reverse it. Appreciate the advice! --Nlmgray (talk) 13:04, 31 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Announcements:

  • Who are the most overlooked and interesting Women in Red? We've no idea,
but we're putting together our list of the 100 most interesting ex-Women in Red.
We are creating the list to celebrate 10 years of Women in Red and we hope to present it at Wikimania.
We are ignoring the obvious, so do you have a name or subject we should consider?
Can you suggest a DYK style hook?
If you are shy about editing that page, you are welcome to add ideas and comments on the talk page.
