User talk:PaulLoeb
Welcome!
[edit]Hello, PaulLoeb, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.
I noticed that one of the first articles you created or edited appears to be an article about yourself. Writing about yourself is a common mistake made by new Wikipedians.
As this is an encyclopedia, we wouldn't expect to have an article about every contributor. We require individuals to meet Wikipedia's definition of a notable person to accept articles about them. A page you created about yourself may well be deleted from the encyclopedia. If it is deleted and you wish to retrieve its contents, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.
If your contributions to an existing article about yourself are undone and you wish to add to or change it, please propose the changes on its talk page.

If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{help me}}

- Hi Yes on Fire--Thanks for reaching out. My Wikipedia page has actually been around for a long while, created maybe 8 or 10 years ago by a random fan who I didn't know but who liked my books (forgot who, but they emailed me after they created it). I was checking it out today, noticed some omissions, and added some updates, while keeping intact all the original text, except for a couple things that were now dated--I used to be a featured blogger for Huffington Post, but they no longer run blogs, so I'm not.
- I think that should be ok. I wasn't adding anything controversial, or changing how they characterized my work, just updating sales numbers on my two bestselling books and adding places I'd written for or been interviewed by. Plus adding the name of my wife.
- So let me know if there's a problem PaulLoeb (talk) 00:31, 22 February 2024 (UTC)
- The problem is that, I think, is there is no references to your edits. Your newly added information should have some reliable, secondary sources that backed it up, that's all. 🔥YesI'mOnFire🔥(ContainThisEmber?) 00:36, 22 February 2024 (UTC)
- Would linking to my website be useful? It's where I've gathered all that info.
- Otherwise there's not really a public source for numbers like book sales.
- And while I suppose I could look up links for every place I've written for, and find references, lots were a while ago and I don't have time to do more on it, so if you want to drop that info that's fine. PaulLoeb (talk) 00:42, 22 February 2024 (UTC)
- I have restored the reversion, and I had tagged it, it just need verifiable sources, that's all.
- And about linking to your website, you should take great care when using it, as this is a primary source. 🔥YesI'mOnFire🔥(ContainThisEmber?) 00:48, 22 February 2024 (UTC)
