[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:ESMERALDA II 1949 and 1950 GRCA photo number 7420750592.JPG. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. Please add this information by editing the image description page.

If the necessary information is not added within the next days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please refer to the image use policy to learn what images you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. Please also check any other files you have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Concering Grand canyon

[edit]

Do you have any journal articles, which could be considered for open access? Sfan00 IMG (talk) 14:51, 9 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Not at this time. But I could see if I could change that. What do you have in mind? We are walking out the door for a Cataract Canyon trip, and I will be back Oct 21. All the best, tom RRFWTommartin (talk) 14:58, 9 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Ideally what is sought is the sort of articles, you'd submit to published journals (and Wikiversity would be probably be the best place to develop them initialy.)
And on some other things, I had mind as resources...
  1. Can you think of any 'printable' or 'assemblable' resources that could be used to support teaching efforts.. I am thinking along the lines of the sort of materials you'd find being given to K12 and High school students.
  1. On the Internet there are various simulator engines, do you know of a rafting one? The thought here was to have a 'Virtual Canyon that could be used to inspire responsible interest in the Grand Canyon, and the craft that used it. ( Assuming the engine was customisable, you could have other virutal rivers added at a later date, assuming of course that there is NOAA/USGS data to enable a good model to be built.). Hmm... I like the idea of a Virtual Canyon rafting engine :) Sfan00 IMG (talk) 15:02, 9 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Stan, I am sorry to report that there are still no articles. I just published a river guide to the Canyonlands section of the Green and Colorado Rivers though. That's an interesting idea, a virtual canyon rafting engine... hmmm... hope all's well, yours, tom RRFWTommartin (talk) 14:48, 4 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on File:GRCA Mary Abbott painting for Masland.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the file appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use it — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.
