Hello I am new here can someone please help me EineGroßeDecke222 (talk) 16:36, 2 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@ReaderofthePack @Tokyogirl79 I don't know how to create a user page and I don't even know if I have to make one but for some reason I don't have a user page by the way I wrote this with Google Translate EineGroßeDecke222 (talk) 16:41, 2 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Good morning! I recommend taking the training here - it will help you with editing Wikipedia. However, you mentioned that you are using Google Translate to write in English. Machine translations like Google Translate are not always accurate or grammatically correct, so I would not recommend directly editing on pages. I would instead suggest offering help with finding German language sources at WP:GERMANY. You might also want to try editing at the German Wikipedia. I'll also translate this into German using Google Translate.
I am also going to ask at the German WikiProject to see if someone fluent can help you. I have only a very rudimentary knowledge of the German language.
Guten Morgen!
ReaderofthePack(formerly Tokyogirl79) (。◕‿◕。) 11:26, 3 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, ReaderofthePack,

I was surprised that you closed this discussion as SNOW after less than one day when only one editor had participated in the discussion along with the nominator. I wouldn't be surprised if, with a normal closure, the outcome wouldn't have been the same but I just don't see how this could be a SNOW closure. Maybe you, instead, saw it as a Speedy deletion? Thanks for any explanation you can offer. Liz Read! Talk! 21:02, 3 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Liz - I closed that for primarily two reasons. The first is that the article looked pretty promotional in tone. The second is that his notability was based on his books, Manifesto of a Lover and The Subdued Sound, both of which had multiple delete arguments. There were also some concerns of some of the sourcing being falsified - the evidence towards that points heavily to this being the case. For example, one of the sources used to back up an award doesn't even mention him. The only legit claim would be that he was involved in journalism, but it appears that it's more to places that are open to user submissions and none of that led to any coverage of himself.
I know that SNOW is typically used for articles with a large amount of participants, but the chances of this person's article surviving a full AfD are so slim that it didn't really seem necessary to run it for a full week. I don't think the outcome would have been any different, not when the main claims to fame were non-notable and the sourcing used for notability (in those articles) were so questionable.
I have no problem if you want to re-open this and run it for a full 7 days to gain more consensus. I do think the end result will be the same, but I don't have a problem with it being re-opened. I can also edit the AfD closure to add these details. ReaderofthePack(formerly Tokyogirl79) (。◕‿◕。) 22:09, 3 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
