That missing New York Times quote

[edit]

Out of curiosity I looked for the quote that The Age had attributed to The New York Times. I found it; however it turns out to be from the New York Post, not the Times. The Post is considered generally unreliable and isn't recommended as a source. If you'd no other American views on the show, it would probably be all right to add it - it's a theatre review, not a political exposé - but you don't need it. The actual New York Times review has some entertainingly grouchy phrasing, such as 'both unseemly and unsanitary' and 'juvenile novelty act'. Puppetry of the Penis feedback

[edit]

Hey there! I'm not nearly as active as I used to be, but I had a look over the Puppetry of the Penis article and it looks great! The show had plenty of cultural impact and you've found lots of great citations that reflect its popularity (and notoriety). My only major suggestion would be that its unclear from the article as it is whether the show is still in production anywhere, and when it finished up if it is not, and whether the original performers have retired. That seems a bit of a gap that it'd be great to fill in; there aren't any mentions in the main text after 2012, or references from later than 2013; the official website indicates it was still running at least as recently as 2017. I'm a bit rusty about current conventions, but I'm also not sure if it needs some of the images that are pretty tangential - like the FCC and performance venues. But that's a minor concern; it's a great article! Thanks for tagging me for this; it was a fun read. -- Guybrush (talk) 11:01, 19 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
