File source problem with File:Tour2010_press_210x280.jpg

[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Tour2010_press_210x280.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of that website's terms of use of its content. However, if the copyright holder is a party unaffiliated from the website's publisher, that copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider verifying that you have specified sources for those files as well. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged per Wikipedia's criteria for speedy deletion, F4. If the image is copyrighted and non-free, the image will be deleted 48 hours after 22:46, 31 July 2010 (UTC) per speedy deletion criterion F7. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. feydey (talk) 22:46, 31 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Chart positions

[edit]

WP:POUND says that chart positions should be written out fully, such as "number two" or "number 39", instead of using the number sign. Ten Pound Hammer, his otters and a clue-bat • (Otters want attention) 18:34, 17 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Categories and subcategories

[edit]

Please stop placing categories in articles if subcategories are already listed. For example, Nadia Turner is already located in Category:American Idol participants, which is a subcategory of Category:Participants in American reality television series. Per WP:CAT: "Pages are not placed directly into every possible category, only into the most specific one in any branch." I am going to revert these parent categories that you recently added to American Idol participants and I hope in the future you check what categories are already in an article before you add any. Aspects (talk) 00:50, 4 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Russell Hantz (Survivor contestant), requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion debate, such as at articles for deletion. Under the specified criteria, where an article has substantially identical content to that of an article deleted after debate, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion," which appears inside of the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate). Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you.  Chzz  ►  22:44, 24 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Replaceable fair use File:Selwyn ward small.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Selwyn ward small.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information or which could be adequately covered with text alone. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Fut.Perf. 17:11, 22 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

MMPR (2010)

[edit]

It is listed alongside RPM and Samurai in navigational boxes because it does not fit in with the succession order directly (and also because Mighty Morphin Power Rangers (re-version) is only an episode list created for transclusion on List of Power Rangers episodes). I understand the changes you made with my most recent edits. However, is it all right in the RPM section if we put the link to the regular article Mighty Morphin Power Rangers and (Re-version) alongside Power Rangers: Samurai in the Info box like the Info Box in the Samuari section? Orphaned non-free media (File:Tangled Rapunzel.jpg)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Tangled Rapunzel.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hello Sb1990. It has been over six months since you last edited your WP:AFC draft article submission, entitled "List of Guy With Glasses specials".

The page will shortly be deleted. If you plan on editing the page to address the issues raised when it was declined and resubmit it, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}} or {{db-g13}} code. Please note that Articles for Creation is not for indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you want to retrieve it, copy this code: {{subst:Refund/G13|Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/List of Guy With Glasses specials}}, paste it in the edit box at this link, click "Save page", and an administrator will in most cases undelete the submission.

A tag has been placed on File:Princess Aurora, Disney character.png requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image is an unused redundant copy (all pixels the same or scaled down) of an image in the same file format, which is on Wikipedia (not on Commons), and all inward links have been updated.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Aurora Disney

[edit]

Why are you being so disruptive on File:Princess aurora disney.png? Kailash29792 (talk) 16:59, 30 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I was trying to put a photo of Aurora in her blue dress, but it did not seem to be working. Now that Cinderella is being shown in her original dress colors here on Wikipedia I think Aurora should be shown in the colors she was advertised in. On her page at Disney wikia, she is wearing a blue dress. That was the color of the dress she had for most of her original film and it's even the color of her dress in the Kingdom Hearts series. She was also originally advertised wearing blue. Look at these VHS tapes. http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51Y7WQST4JL._SY300_.jpg http://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/MTYwMFg5OTE=/z/kv0AAOSw7PBTofoz/$_35.JPG Plus, there are these theatrical release posters. http://img2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20131219054505/disney/images/5/5f/Sleeping_Beauty_1990's_Re-Release_Poster.jpg http://www.pastposters.com/cw3/assets/product_full/(PB)__SleepingBeauty-1980(1)front.jpg She also used to wear it in Disney parks. Heck at the El Capitan Theatre in 2008, she is even advertised wearing blue in the marquee. http://www.dvdizzy.com/images/q-s/sbelcap-01.jpg If we are instead going to base it on the colors, they are being advertised in now, then Cinderella's dress should not be silvery white if Aurora's is pink. Sb1990 (talk) 17:09, 30 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not talking about the originality of their dresses; I asked why you reverted the image many times. Kailash29792 (talk) 17:12, 30 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
When I was reverting the photo, she was still wearing pink instead of blue. I thought it was not working. Sb1990 (talk) 17:14, 30 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Updating image files

[edit]

Hi Sb1990. I've noticed that you've uploaded an "updated" version of File:Power Rangers (2017 Official Theatrical Poster).png. When uploading a version which is different is design, etc, from previous versions, it's generally considered best to simply upload the file as a new file to Wikipedia using a different filename and not as an updated version of the older one because it makes it easier to compare images, especially non-free images, and possibly determine which version is more appropriate for use in the article via the article's talk page. It also makes a difference because sometimes the source and copyright information is not the same for each image. Generally, only slightly altered versions (e.g., cropped or re-sized versions, etc.) should probably be uploaded as an "updated version". Any major change such as change in design, coloring, sponsor name, file format, etc. should probably be uploaded as a new file under a different name. Would you mind reuploading the image once again as a separate file? -- Marchjuly (talk) 21:43, 2 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
