Black Ops

[edit]

Please do not add or change content without verifying it by citing reliable sources, as you did to Call of Duty: Black Ops. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. ferret (talk) 17:29, 29 December 2011

I apologise; I am relatively new and even newer to the method of citing, of which I am trying to master. I did cite though..? --GABBY (talk) 17:57, 29 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
It's not the lack of a cite, but that they are unreliable sources. The important thing is to use reliable sources. In almost all cases, blogs and forums are considered unreliable. Please see the links above for information about what is considered reliable. In addition, the Video Game project maintains a list of example sources that are accepted as reliable for use in video game articles, which you can find here. ferret (talk) 18:05, 29 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you. --GABBY (talk) 18:11, 29 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Quick hint about the Black Keys userbox

[edit]

ThatBlokeInTheMask,

I've noticed that you've used the Black Keys fan userbox on your userpage, but you haven't used the name parameter to get the full effect. Just enter your name in the code where it says "your name here" below, and then the userbox appearance will mimic the cover of the album Brothers, complete with your name in it. Enjoy!

{{User:UBX/The Black Keys|name=your name here}}

Thank you very much! --GABBY (talk) 10:39, 2 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Your userpages

[edit]

Please don't do that again, you just moved them into article space. They have to have the User: and User talk: prefix--Jac16888 Talk 13:32, 2 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Noted. But please ask permission first, before you infringe on my personal Userspace. --GABBY (talk) 14:57, 2 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

No, I will not ask your permission, because a) its not yours anyway, and b) by moving it to the articlespace any user had every right to move it back or delete it--Jac16888 Talk 15:06, 2 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Nevertheless. I insist you notify people before you make drastic changes. --GABBY (talk) 15:16, 2 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thats what I did, after I fixed your mistake. I'm not going to ask for permission before I move a page that should not be an article back out of articlespace--Jac16888 Talk 15:21, 2 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

It's just common etiquette, just because you have the power doesn't mean you have to surpass manners and pleasantries. --GABBY (talk) 15:28, 2 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think you're getting this. What you di, was make a page in the article space... i.e. just like United States or Computer, except that it was just a pile of your userboxes. That meant that anyone on the planet could view it, as an article. So yes, I moved it immediately, and would do so again. And I find it laughable that you would lecture me about manners and pleasantries considering your history. I moved your page back to where it belongs, end of story--Jac16888 Talk 15:36, 2 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I apologise.. I don't have the immense knowledge you have acquired over the years you have spent on Wikipedia. I just thought you would like to be reminded that we are all fellow editors on here, and I reserve the right to use goodwill. --GABBY (talk) 15:43, 2 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Hi There

[edit]

The question of using Wikia cites is a good one. In general, Wikia's are not allowed as a source for articles, as they are user generated with no review process. You should also be aware that you cannot use Wikipedia itself to source articles. Sometimes it is allowable to list particular Wikia sites in the "See Also" section of an article, but using them for a source is generally not considered reliable. -- ferret (talk) 19:02, 3 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Cheers. --GABBY (talk) 19:54, 3 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. You have been repeatedly adding WP:PROD notices to Camping (gaming). Once a page has been proposed for deletion once and that proposal has been contested, it ceases to be eligible for proposed deletion, as you can read in WP:PROD. Please desist from re-adding invalid PRODs. Thanks. —chaos5023 (talk) 19:47, 12 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

My standpoint was that it had not been debated or reviewed, and had therefore been removed by some random vandal. Please show me if, and where, this proposition was discussed? --GABBY (talk) 16:30, 13 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

It is not necessary to discuss a PROD in order to remove it. Removal constitutes the prod being contested. Again, per WP:PROD. —chaos5023 (talk) 23:36, 13 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Keep it up

The Grace Under Fire Award
Hi Gabby,

You've been making some good edits, but it looks like you've also been taking some criticism. Keep up the good work and the civil tone: you seem pretty good at letting it all pass through you!

"In his dream, Crazy Horse saw a man riding a horse through clouds of darkness and battle. Bullets flew around him, but did not hit him.

The man wore a stone under one ear, and a bird feather in his hair. His body was painted with sharp white lines, like lightning. A light followed him, but it was sometimes covered by darkness.

Crazy Horse understood the dream as a sign. He knew his people were entering a time of darkness. He dressed himself like the man in the dream, so that no bullets would hurt him. He would try to save his land for his people. He would try to protect their way of living." Jtmorgan (talk) 04:17, 15 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Ok.. thanks. --GABBY (talk) 15:55, 15 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
