Move Closure at Talk:Gunnison Grouse#Requested move 22 January 2025
[edit]Hi @Vpab15. I didn't really think your closure here made sense, found Wikipedia:Move_review which says first step is to discuss with the closer, so here I am. I think I've demonstrated that the proposed title is clearly better for Naturalness (in far more common use) and Consistency (the other related article is already at greater sage-grouse), and either title is neutral on the other 3 WP:CRITERIA. As far as I can tell, nobody has really disputed either criteria - the first comment from MPF tried to but they seem to have missed that the other article was *already* at greater sage-grouse. Rather, people have pointed to a guideline in Wikiproject Birds which doesn't really say exactly they are suggesting, and I think (sometimes) directly contradicts the actual Wikipedia policy on article titles. I realise it is maybe rather tendentious to be arguing about a move request without a single "support", but as I said in the original comment I don't really think this case has any ambiguity in regards to WP policy, and I don't see anyone arguing otherwise. Maybe also relevant that the only previous move request determined that it should be at Gunnison sage-grouse, and it was later moved back without any attempt at gaining consensus. Thoughts? - Hi, I have reverted my closure, other editor might close differently. I agree with some of your arguments, however, you did not mention them in the discussion. It would be good if you added your arguments with link to the relevant naming policies and guidelines. Vpab15 (talk) 16:37, 11 February 2025 (UTC)
Incorrect edit summary
[edit]Hi, this edit was not disambiguation. DuncanHill (talk) 23:16, 19 February 2025 (UTC)
- Hi, not sure what you mean. Vpab15 (talk) 23:23, 19 February 2025 (UTC)
- You changed a link from Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs to Foreign Secretary (United Kingdom). The both point to the same article. So it wasn't disambiguation. DuncanHill (talk) 23:29, 19 February 2025 (UTC)
- The didn't point to the same article before, until I changed it. Vpab15 (talk) 23:33, 19 February 2025 (UTC)

Followup on July Revolution (Bangladesh)
[edit]Bruno pnm ars, the editor who redirected Students–People's uprising (Bangladesh) to July Revolution (Bangladesh), didn't leave an edit summary. You didn't either when you reverted them. A consensus was reached at Talk:Students–People's uprising (Bangladesh)#Requested move 19 January 2025 that the article should be titled "July Revolution (Bangladesh)". Was your concern that it should have been a round-robin move to preserve the page's contribution history, or was it something about Royiswariii's non-admin closure of the requested move (which failed to either perform the move or request it at Wikipedia:Requested moves/Technical requests)? --Worldbruce (talk) 14:51, 23 February 2025 (UTC)
- I reverted the cut and paste move because the article history needs to be preserved. I have asked the closer to implement the move, but not sure if they know what they are supposed to do. If they take no action, I think the close needs to be reverted so that some other editor can close it properly. Vpab15 (talk) 15:38, 23 February 2025 (UTC)
