Notice

The article Sophia Tolstoy's rebuttal of her husband Leo's accusations has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

content of the page as well as sources have been added to the page of Sophia Tolstaya. This page is now duplicative, the topic does not have sufficient notability in itself and the title of the page is misleading (because the response consists of two separate novellas, which need not be referred to as one item)

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.

Happy Holidays

[edit]
Peace is a state of balance and understanding in yourself and between others, where respect is gained by the acceptance of differences, tolerance persists, conflicts are resolved through dialog, people's rights are respected and their voices are heard, and everyone is at their highest point of serenity without social tension. Happy Holidays to you and yours. ―Buster7

The European Destubathon

[edit]

You are invited to participate in The European Destubathon in April. Almost $3000 in Amazon voucher prizes which can be used to buy books for content, though it can also be treated as an editathon if you're not interested in competing! Minimum content to be added to each article just to ensure that they're over a stub. Entries at the end of the contest will be tipped into the 50,000 Destubbing Challenge and European Challenge. Previous contests were really enjoyable and I'm hoping this one will be too! Sign up if interested. Thanks! ♦ Dr. Blofeld 16:56, 6 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Mark L Mason

[edit]

Dear Whispyhistory, I am the son of Mark L. Mason. Thank you for creating a Wikipedia page in 2023 for him. I was wondering the reason that you created a page for my father? It was only through your post that I discovered that he devised the classification for fractures of the radial head some 70 years after his publication. I am considering whether to edit and extend his Wikipedia entry. Nosamcliptos (talk) 19:00, 9 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for reaching out... I will look back and respond. Likely I was researching radial head fractures at the time... It would be good to expand the article.Whispyhistory (talk) 21:01, 9 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Dear @Nosamcliptos: I came across his name here. I can expand it and you can message me or discuss any changes on his talk page. Thank you again for highlighting this. Whispyhistory (talk) 06:30, 10 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you. Yes, it would be good if you could expand his description of radial head fracture. I can then write something about his life and career. I am still astonished that I was unaware of his publication and the eponymous use of his name for classification until your wiki post. Do you have medical background? Nosamcliptos (talk) 18:30, 10 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Dear @Nosamcliptos: ... Yes to medical background. I'll see what I can do. About life and career, the information needs to come from a secondary source such as biography/obituary etc. Also, you would be too close a contact to edit his article. Maybe consider writing his biography as an article for a medical biographies journal or in a book. Thank you again for your kind comments. I'll do some research on the history of elbow fractures. Best Whispyhistory (talk) 05:47, 11 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
OK. I think I know someone who is a Wikipedia editor who could expand the life and career sections. I'll ask them if they would help. In the mean time I'll wait developments of your research. Many thanks again. BW Nosamcliptos Nosamcliptos (talk) 18:30, 11 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Dear Whispyhistory, Very many thanks for expanding my father's Wikipedia page. What you have created looks good. Where you planning expanded it further? If you have any questions about his life I would happy answer them. BW Nosamcliptos (talk) 10:26, 13 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Dear @Nosamcliptos:... I still have a bit more to do.. will message you when I think I cannot offer more. BW Whispyhistory (talk) 19:24, 16 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Request for medical review and input

[edit]

Hope you are well. I usually steer clear of medical topics but for various reasons became interested in expanding this bio – Marguerite McDonald – and am now planning to submit it to DYK. Could you please review and make sure it looks OK? I am still hoping to find more info to add toward the end of her bio and there is some other cleanup required (e.g. what do you do with bios where the person has so many awards). Checking from a medical point of view would be great but also if you have any other edits or suggestions please go ahead and/or let me know. Thanks in advance and also happy to add you as a "collaborator" if you don't mind. Cheers. Cielquiparle (talk) 18:31, 24 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@Cielquiparle:... Thanks and have missed the meetups. Of course I will go through... no need to add as collaborator. I'll message back when I think I am unable to do more. Thank you for reaching out. Whispyhistory (talk) 18:44, 24 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks so much for all your careful edits and additions so far! I went ahead and submitted it for DYK so I wouldn't forget and miss the deadline. Really appreciate your help (and still happy to add you as a contributor if you don't mind...but also understand if you prefer not to be added...as I have edited many DYKs that I prefer not to be associated with). Cheers. Cielquiparle (talk) 12:31, 27 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Pleasure... @Cielquiparle:... I'll do a bit now and then. The whole story of the origins of laser is quite interesting. Leave the dyk as it is please. I might create some of the others involved. Thank you for bringing it to my attention. :) Whispyhistory (talk) 14:15, 27 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Hi @Cielquiparle:... ophthalmology is not my best topic but I did what I can. Do you know if she wrote up the case in a journal (1988)... I couldn't find it? Whispyhistory (talk) 13:08, 29 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Funny you should ask. Could you please look at the references on this page and see if one or more of those should be listed in her article? (Long story but I only just learned about McDonald and the topic via the AfD discussion of one of the co-authors named Frantz. Frantz unfortunately doesn't meet the Wikipedia notability guidelines but clearly Trokel does so great to see he has a page now.) Thanks again. Cielquiparle (talk) 18:54, 29 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
