The nearest town for significant economic activities is Pathanamthitta, situated approximately 9 kilometers from Vallicode Kottayam. The village is commonly referred to as V. Kottayam.

Nedumpara Viewpoint serves as the primary tourist destination in Kottappara, located centrally within Vallicode-Kottayam.
