Vav-Tharad is a district of Gujarat, India. It is located on the eastern side of the Rann of Kutch and southern side of the Rajasthan State touches it's borders,its headquarters is at the city of Tharad.
Vav-Tharad was carved out from the existing Banaskantha district on a 1st January 2025, making the newly existing thirty-fourth district of the Gujarat state of India.[2][3]
Geography
[edit]Vav-Tharad shares its borders with Rajasthan state in the North, Banaskantha district in East, Kutch district in West and Patan district in the South.

Its headquarters is the city of Tharad which, together with Vav, is also a significant tourist destination. Important religious sites are available such as Nandevi Temple at Tharad and Nadeshwari Mata Temple at Nadabet.[4]
Demographics
[edit]According to the 2011 census Vav-Tharad district has a population of 1,380,870,[1] roughly equal to the nation of Swaziland.[5] The district has a population density of 220 inhabitants per square kilometre (570/sq mi) .[1]
