Ward No. 18 Dhaka South City Corporation (Bengali: ১৮ নং ওয়ার্ড, ঢাকা দক্ষিণ সিটি কর্পোরেশন) is an administrative division of Dhaka South City Corporation Ward, which belongs to Zone-1. It was Ward No. 52 of the former Dhaka City Corporation. Ward No. 18 is located in New Market area. It forms a city corporation council electoral constituency and is a part of Bangladesh Jatiya Sangsad constituency Dhaka-10.[1]
Overview
[edit]Ward No.18 consists of the surrounding area including Newmarket, Elephant Road of Dhaka. This ward is especially important to the people of the country because of the various markets in New Market, Neelkhet, Gauchia, Elephant Road. This ward has special importance from the point of view of education.
