Task force?

[edit]

Why has this been created as a full-blown WikiProject when it could just as easily have been created as a task force of Wikipedia:WikiProject Football? Also, was it ever proposed at WP:COUNCIL/P? I would have thought that would be a necessary step before creating a WikiProject. – PeeJay 07:42, 6 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

More precisely; what are the particular tasks that this project fulfills that aren't/couldn't be fulfilled by WP:FOOTY? Knepflerle (talk) 17:03, 7 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

League teams in Europe table

[edit]

I think this table should be included with a couple of rules.

  1. Teams from only that league are included.
  2. It includes only an overview of each team and the league. No thorough details go into the table. Kingjeff (talk) 16:43, 7 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I don't think that table should even be included on a competition page. Such information should be included at 2009–10 in Austrian football (or a similar article). – PeeJay 16:53, 7 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Furthermore, season articles such as the one you linked to are already under the supervision of the football season article task force, so you needn't concern yourself with them here. If you have similar concerns, bring them up at WT:FSATF. – PeeJay 16:54, 7 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
As you can see from the red link, there is no such article as 2009–10 in Austrian football. I really don't see any supervision from them here, here and it goes for every season until here where there is finally a WP Football template. Kingjeff (talk) 17:06, 7 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I think these tables should be let in until such articles are created and they shouldn't be created for 1 table. Kingjeff (talk) 17:08, 7 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Well, why not mention this at WT:FOOTY? Or at WT:FSATF? Or ask at WP:WikiProject Austria? Or start a small taskforce just for these articles? If you want eyes on the articles you'll have to go out and find them - I'm not sure a discussion here is going to bring in much new interest. Knepflerle (talk) 17:09, 7 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
If there is no such article as 2009–10 in Austrian football, you should create one with a similar structure to 2009–10 in English football. And if articles don't have a project banner on their talk page, you should add one. – PeeJay 17:11, 7 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Then why did you not just simply add the WP:FOOTY template to those articles, instead of (wrongly) setting up a whole new project??? Perverse behaviour. Jmorrison230582 (talk) 18:54, 11 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not interested in a full-blown article like that. Especially ones that are not started. I find that only the more recent articles are of a good standard. As far as the table is concerned, Smaller European leagues are not likely to get an article such as 2009–10 in Austrian football. Where you do put a table if there is no such article? Kingjeff (talk) 17:25, 7 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Nowhere. It's not directly relevant to the Austrian Bundesliga article, as although the teams belong to that league, the table refers to their activities in European competitions. You wouldn't list their accomplishments in the Austrian Cup on that article, so why would you list any other competitions? – PeeJay 17:36, 7 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Why is not directly relevant? I would list it in the Austrian Bundesliga because the UEFA Coefficient points they win is directly related to the Austrian Bundesliga and not the Austrian Cup. However, I wouldn't be againt putting a table on the Austrian Cup page since every country has a representative. Kingjeff (talk) 02:22, 8 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

PeeJay , I'm glad you brought up the Austrian Cup. You just gave me something to work on. Kingjeff (talk) 02:32, 8 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Request for information on WP1.0 web tool

[edit]

Hello and greetings from the maintainers of the WP 1.0 Bot! As you may or may not know, we are currently involved in an overhaul of the bot, in order to make it more modern and maintainable. As part of this process, we will be rewriting the web tool that is part of the project. You might have noticed this tool if you click through the links on the project assessment summary tables.

We'd like to collect information on how the current tool is used by....you! How do you yourself and the other maintainers of your project use the web tool? Which of its features do you need? How frequently do you use these features? And what features is the tool missing that would be useful to you? We have collected all of these questions at this Google form where you can leave your response. Walkerma (talk) 04:24, 27 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
