Zakaria Bahous (born May 8, 2001) is a Canadian soccer player who plays as a midfielder for Pacific FC in the Canadian Premier League.
Early life and college career
[edit]Bahous played youth soccer with FC Brossard, FC St-Léonard, and CS Longueuil.[1]
Bahous began attending Champlain College Saint-Lambert in 2018, playing for the men's soccer team, serving as team captain by the end of his four-year career.[2] In 2021, he led the RSEQ with ten goals in nine games,[3] earning Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association Player of the Year honours,[4] and being named an RSEQ D1 All-Star.[5]
Club career
[edit]He began his senior career with CS Longueuil in the Première ligue de soccer du Québec.[6]
In 2021, he played for FC Laval in the PLSQ.[7]
In 2022, he signed a professional contract with Canadian Premier League club Atlético Ottawa for two years, with a club option for 2024.[8][9] He made his debut on April 9, against Cavalry FC.[10] On October 1, Bahous scored his first professional goal, scoring the winning goal in a 2–1 victory over HFX Wanderers FC.[11] In July 2023, he departed the club.[12][13]
In September 2023, he joined Pacific FC of the Canadian Premier League for the remainder of the 2023 season, with a club option for 2024.[14][15] In January 2024, he signed a new one-year contract with the club, with an option for 2025.[16]
