The 2025 Philippine local elections in the Cordillera Administrative Region are scheduled to be held on May 12, 2025.
Abra
[edit]Governor
[edit]Incumbent Dominic Valera (Asenso Abrenio) is running for mayor of Bangued. He was elected with 51.10% of the vote in 2022.
On December 9, 2024, the Office of the President suspended Valera on charges of abuse of power in appointing a Bucay councilor.[1] Russell Bragas became acting governor.
Valera's grandson, Bangued vice mayor Kiko Bernos (Asenso Abrenio), is running against former Abra governor Takit Bersamin (Partido Federal ng Pilipinas).[2]

Vice Governor
[edit]Incumbent Joy Bernos (Asenso Abrenio) is running for a full term.[2] She was elected with 71.42% of the vote in 2022.
On August 12, 2024, the Office of the President suspended Bernos for ordering the lockdown of a Bangued hospital during COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, when she was still governor.[3] On December 9 of the same year, the Office of the President also suspended Bernos, together with Governor Dominic Valera, on charges of abuse of power in appointing a Bucay councilor.[1]
Following Bernos' suspension, Russell Bragas became acting governor. On December 9, 2024, Bragas became acting governor upon Governor Valera's suspension, and was succeeded by Allan Seares as acting vice governor.
Bernos is running against Anne Bersamin (Partido Federal ng Pilipinas).[2]
