Overview

[edit]

B A Bush & Son Ltd, trading as Bush Tyres, is a British automotive services company specialising in tyre retail, supply, and fitting. Headquartered in Horncastle, Lincolnshire, the company operates a network of branches across Eastern and Northern England,[1] offering products and services for private motorists, businesses, haulage companies and the agricultural sector.

History

[edit]

The company was founded in 1947 by Benjamin Arthur Bush (aka Benny) in New Bolingbroke, Lincolnshire. Originally a cycle shop, it expanded into supplying pneumatic tyres before World War II. Following the war, the business became a recognised tyre dealer and began servicing a wider range of vehicles.

In 1962, the company relocated to Horncastle, Lincolnshire, where it still operates to this day. Their head office used was located there as well but moved to new office space on the other side of Horncastle in 2021[2].

B A Bush & Son Ltd expanded across Lincolnshire under the ownership of Benny’s son, Ivor, and into a different county. Notable milestones include the opening of the first purpose-built service centre in Skegness in 1968[3], and the company's first site outside of Lincolnshire in Beverley, East Riding of Yorkshire in 1989.

Since the early 1990’s the company has grown further under the ownership of Benny’s Grandson Nigel and Great-grandson’s Ben & Tom, taking the number of locations across the eastern side of England to 35.
