The International Computer Vision Summer School (ICVSS) is an annual academic conference and educational event established in 2007 and yearly organized by University of Cambridge and University of Catania. [1] [2] [3] [4] [5] [6] It focuses on research in the field of computer vision. [7] The conference usually lasts one week and takes place every year in July in the location of Sampieri, Sicily, Italy.[7] [8] [9] [10] Students at the conference attend lectures given by renowned researchers in the field of computer vision [11], including Daniel Cremers, Leonidas J. Guibas[12], Stefano Soatto, Michael J. Black[13], Alexei A. Efros, William T. Freeman, Jitendra Malik[14], Cordelia Schmid, Serge Belongie, Christopher Bishop, Philip Torr, Fei-Fei Li, Yann LeCun[15]. The students can also present their academic research during poster sessions.[7] [16] The admission process is competitive, with students applying from over 40 countries[17], with a limited number of participants each year and an admission rate of 16% in 2024.[7] The conference was also awarded the PAMI Mark Everingham Prize from IEEE Computer Society.
