  • Comment: The LinkedIn 'news' only provides a capsule profile, not significant coverage. The two NBR pieces appear (although I can't see behind the paywall) to be interviews, and in any case count as only one source. We normally need to see three or more sources that squarely meet the WP:NCORP standard for notability. DoubleGrazing (talk) 14:32, 14 May 2025 (UTC)
  • Comment: Hello, I appreciate your effort to improve the sourcing, but at this time I am not convinced this subject meets our notability guideline for corporations. Everything listed here seems to be routine, run-of-the-mill coverage. Thank you, Zzz plant (talk) 20:59, 9 May 2025 (UTC)

Petdirect is a New Zealand-based pet supplies retailer founded in 2020. It has been the subject of coverage in the National Business Review, which highlighted its customer growth, investment backing, and expansion from e-commerce into physical retail.[1] In 2024, it was ranked third on LinkedIn News’ Top Startups list for New Zealand.[2]

History

[edit]

Petdirect was launched in March 2020 by entrepreneur Shane Bradley during New Zealand’s COVID-19 lockdown.[1] According to the National Business Review, by early 2024 Petdirect was serving nearly 100,000 online customers through its Auckland and Christchurch warehouses.[1]

In 2024, Petdirect received a multi-million-dollar investment from Pencarrow Private Equity to support its expansion into physical retail.[1] In June 2024, the company launched an online pharmacy offering prescription veterinary products, citing growing demand for pet health services in New Zealand.[3]
