Shift to Upbound Group

[edit]

In 2023, Rent-A-Center changed the name of its holding company to Upbound Group, Inc., marking a shift toward becoming a more diversified company empowered to offer financial opportunity for all. This change reflects the company’s commitment to offering not only leasing options, but also alternative financial solutions tailored to customers’ needs. As Upbound Group, Inc., the company aims to support upward mobility for its customers.

Today, Upbound Group, Inc. operates through multiple brands, such as Rent-A-Center or Acima Leasing, allowing it to reach a wide range of consumers both in stores and online. With its new name and an expanded mission, Upbound Group, Inc. continues to focus on providing accessible financial solutions, supporting customers who seek the flexibility to lease, own, and manage their financial options. The company’s strategy represents an ongoing commitment to innovation in financial accessibility for all while maintaining its foundational values of financial opportunities for their customers.
