Hoxie Scenic Overlook

[edit]

Hello. I took a panoramic image of the Hoxie Scenic Overlook. Is there somewhere I can post it?

Hoxie Scenic Overlook

Yes there is. Post it in Route description. 71.10.247.40 (talk) 01:07, 25 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Exits 77 to 79

[edit]

Does anyone have any knowledge as to why there are no exits 77, 78, or 79 on I-95 after it leaves the Turnpike in Waterford?

--Cngodles 13:54, 13 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

SR 695

[edit]

695 really has absolutely no signage. It is confusing as hell, especially since Google Maps tells you to take it BY NAME. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.118.246.173 (talk) 06:18, 26 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I thought that it was signed as the Connecticut Turnpike. 71.10.247.40 (talk) 01:06, 25 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Exit list

[edit]

There are some problems with Polaron's edits, including:

  • South Norwalk is a full interchange; the southbound exit splits from exit 15. The US 1 interchange just to the south is only missing a northbound exit.
  • The main part of exit 25 is in Bridgeport.
  • Why was exit 27 split?
  • Route 127 does not seem to be signed on I-95.
  • Exit 45 is full; the northbound exit is via a right turn off exit 44.

--NE2 04:22, 31 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You are correct about Exit 14 and 15. Half of northbound exit 25 (the on-ramp) is indeed in Bridgeport so we can move that one as well if that is preferable. Exit 27 is split - the northbound is to Myrtle Avenue and the southbound is to Lafayette Avenue, even though both are signed for Lafayette Avenue. So, no matter what direction you're going, 27 always comes before 27A. The split reflects that fact. Route 127 has been signed since the bridge was reconstructed in 2003 after the fuel tanker explosion.[1] Exit 44 is not the same as 45 -- 44 is for Kimberly Avenue and 45 is for Ella Grasso Blvd. However, if you prefer to essentially combine them, we can do that. I'll fix these up in a bit. --Polaron | Talk 12:31, 31 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Whomsoever created/edited the exit list seems to have confused Route 395 with Route 95. Route 95 continues along the coast going through Waterford, New London, over Gold Star Bridge, Groton, Mystic, North Stonington, Clarks Falls - and into Rhode Island. I do not have all the numbers handy but it is from Exit 81 to Exit 93. I am new to wikipedia and do not know how to change such a large error as this. Devraj50 (talk) 14:07, 27 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Should we even mention Former plaza on eixt list? Body waters is unneccessairly uless it's the world's famous ones like Golden Gate Brg. in San Francisco.--Freewayguy Ask? +000s 03:38, 14 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, information about former toll plazas is beneficial as it was a toll road. If you want to move the information from the exit list to a separate section, that is also fine, but the information needs to be in the article somewhere. The major river crossings are probably useful to keep to as these are named and significant bridge structures. Articles for all these crossing are likely to be made eventually. --Polaron | Talk 15:21, 14 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
This deepnds on how important os the body of water. Some like I-405 cross San Gabriel River or Orange County Santa Ana River in California is not important, so we don't need them on list. Some some exit list, we have to erase some rivers from exit list, coloring them blue will not help becasue it's against the exit list.--Freewayguy Ask? +000s 21:04, 14 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
And how do you propose to determine whether a river crossin is significant or not? --Polaron | Talk 00:59, 15 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Missing image?

[edit]

The infobox for this page used to have the old Connecticut Turnpike shield in it, but for some reason it's now gone. I can't find any edit in the revision history that removed the image. What happened? 98.118.32.140 (talk) 11:46, 7 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

The file was deleted on Commons on February 22, 2019, because it lacked a source. See commons:File:Conn Tpk.gif for confirmation.
There was already an issue with the file over a week previously though. Because it was called by {{infobox road}} and its subtemplates, specifically Template:Infobox road/shield/USA, one subtemplate was modified to stop calling the now-deleted file. No edit to this article was necessary. Imzadi 1979  18:08, 7 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
