The "Unknown Political Prisoner" competition
[edit]This competition was large enough and unusual enough that it probably should have its own article. So many artists participated, some of them pretty notable, and the background of the contest generated a lot of critical commentary at the time, since it was speculated that the CIA may have been behind the promotion of such a monument.
