Promotional editing

It is clearly not promotional editing to talk about A) how they don't admit more than xyz percent of students and B) what their alumni do. These are rather standard to include, and are important measures. I completely disagree with the process of removing the entire section, rather than cleaning it up, so I reverted so that they could be cleaned up. These were recent, explicitly promotional additions. You go to the talk page to discuss what can be salvaged from the COI additions after they have been dealt with. Not the reverse. The onus was actually on the original editor to make his case in the talk page from the beginning for these promo additions, then proceed. But that isn't what they did, so the WP:PROMOTION has been rightly removed, and now we can go over what can be added neutrally, just as it should have been from the start. SerAntoniDeMiloni, that may be challenging for you, but GuardianH and I were working on it already. Of the content you restored, half is gone, and that's actually something you could have done. Ranking / Reputation Section Deleted

@Ratnahastin@Star Mississippi I want to add program ranking and alumni information that has been included in previous revisions being before reverted. Will that be ok? I want to add updated FT / linkedin rankings for the business programs along with alumni rankings from pitchbook rankings, FT CEO rankings, and Wealth X rankings. Rankings are not promotion. Various discussion about school/program's rankings have been done, including within this talk page.

I don't understand why Wikipedia admins keep stepping on each other feet, with some new ones delete contents approved by old ones without clear reasons.

History Section

Hi @Ratnahasti, thanks for your guidance on the COI process. I tried to remove any 'puffery' from the edit, but I can guess that you were taking about this part, 'the "father of venture capitalism"'. Happy to remove that, so proposing the following text which I believe is more relevant and concise than the current revision:

INSEAD was founded in 1957 by venture capitalist Georges Doriot, Claude Janssen, and Olivier Giscard d'Estaing. Original seed money was provided by the Paris Chamber of Commerce. The school was originally based in the Château de Fontainebleau before locating to its current Europe Campus in 1967. The original name of the school was "Institut Européen d'Administration des Affaires’ which was later shortened to INSEAD.

In 2000, the school opened a second campus in Singapore, and in 2007, it established a Centre in Abu Dhabi primarily for research and executive education, which later achieved campus status in 2010. In 2020, INSEAD opened the INSEAD San Francisco Hub for Business Innovation.

In 2012, INSEAD became a founding member of the Sorbonne University Alliance, moving toward a partnership with other specialist institutions to create a top-tier multidisciplinary university. Differentspin (talk) 12:16, 10 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
