Complaints in the intro
[edit]I removed these two complaints from the introductory paragraph, which were added anonymously:
"Unlike Rio Grande Games, they do not license the German visual components, and many players have expressed dissatisfaction with the artwork used in some Mayfair versions of the games.
"They are also known to change some rules in their versions which has lead to problems for players."
They are unsourced and seem out of place in the introduction. JHunterJ 14:55, 1 June 2006 (UTC)
Mayfair Games also put out a wargame based on The Forever War by Joe Haldemann, as seen here (the link is poorly documented in other regards though). I had it back in the day, but no longer own a copy. Would this go under Board Games or another category (it was structurally similar to Avalon Hill's WWII games). -- nae'blis (talk) 05:02, 21 June 2006 (UTC)
- I'd advocate for removing the board/card/RPG distinctions altogether and making one long list, but in general wargames can go under board games, sure. -- JHunterJ 11:03, 21 June 2006 (UTC)
no-discount policy?
[edit]I am occasional visitor to various gaming and wargaming bulletin boards and forums and have recently seen a number of cryptic references to a Mayfair no-discount policy that seems to have upset a few people. What are the details of the policy, and how are people reacting? 172.163.44.187 (talk) 18:59, 26 December 2007 (UTC)RKH
No mention of Bill Fawcett, co-founder of Mayfair Games?
[edit]I don't know if cofounder is the right word, although some bios of Bill Fawcett used that. According to the Bill Fawcett and Darwin Bromley articles, Bromley brought Fawcett on board as a Partner, soon after Bromley founded Mayfair Games.
Bill Fawcett was a writer on many of the earlier games, from what I understand (I'm interested in Fawcett primarily for his sci-fi novels and anthologies.)98.162.209.39 (talk) 12:00, 8 March 2015 (UTC)
dc comics rpg
[edit]I'm surprised there's an omission of the DC Comics role playing game for superheroes Michaeljpastor (talk) 23:18, 4 March 2022 (UTC)
