This article needs citations to reliable sources to show that the subject is notable and not original research. I searched for "spectrum continuation analysis" on Google and Google Scholar and got nothing that wasn't derived from this article. Also, the article is vague and seems quite incomplete. -- Spireguy (talk) 20:31, 16 March 2009 (UTC)

Redirect
[edit]To editors Bearian, Madyno, Spireguy and Witger: I am pretty sure that I know the basis for this article. There is significant interest in image recovery methods based upon incomplete information both in computer science and some areas of physics. This appears to be an early approach to solving these problems which is now obsolete. The articles compressive sensing and coherent diffraction imaging are more representative of where the topic is now. Of the two this is IMO closer to the L1 math, so I suggest a redirect to compressive sensing.
If I don't hear any nay votes I will go ahead with a redirect in a few days. Ldm1954 (talk) 11:57, 5 June 2025 (UTC)
- N.B., there is also Phase retrieval but I think that needs a bit of TLC. Ldm1954 (talk) 12:11, 5 June 2025 (UTC)
- A redirect to any appropriate article is fine. An article can be based on, but not exclusively on, primary sources. Bearian (talk) 14:17, 5 June 2025 (UTC)
