Feedback from New Page Review process

[edit]

I left the following feedback for the creator/future reviewers while reviewing this article: The first long paragraph on his career cites as a source his own CV. We need to have other, independent sources. For instance, a link to his PhD, prior announcements of his appointments etc. In principle the whole 1st paragraph of his career could be deleted as unverified.

Dear Lawrence (if I may),
A colleague told me that someone has set up a wikipedia page on me (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Subir_Sarkar) - but that you are concerned that it is not based on independent sources so "In principle the whole 1st paragraph of his career could be deleted as unverified".
I too, like yourself, am now emeritus professor, and there may be no "independent sources" for my career. The way I see it, if you have no idea who I am and need to be convinced that I really am an Oxford academic, then I do not deserve a Wikipedia page ... so you are very welcome to delete the whole thing! In fact many physicists who achieved much more than I have do not have one, so I will be in good company.
