Merge ?
[edit]Please do not merge back into waterloo station. Mark999 17:59, 26 July 2007 (UTC)

- I think it should be merged because they are sometimes treated like one station with tickets and passengers.--I Like The british Rail Class 483 (talk) 18:26, 22 March 2021 (UTC)
- I Like The british Rail Class 483, This discussion is thirteen and a half years old; since then the article has been extensively improved and expanded. In particular, the history behind the original railway companies, including the SER and LDCR (versus the LSWR for Waterloo "main") reveals there's quite a difference between the two. In particular, note the pre-1911 connecting line between the stations, the competition from the Waterloo & City line, and early service timetables. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 20:00, 22 March 2021 (UTC)

Platform designations
[edit]Why were the platform letters (A B C D) deleted after "Platforms in use 4" when they are not the usual manner of labelling platforms, yet WP "Wloo Int" has been allowed to retain "Platforms in use 5 (20-24)" which is no more uninformative?--SilasW (talk) 12:07, 26 February 2008 (UTC)
Independent exit?
[edit]Wloo E has no grand doorway but does not the entrance in the side street off Waterloo Road with stairs up to the connecting walkway count as an independent way in? Not many people would use that doorway, to go up, along, then down to get to the terminus. Even limited opening hours for this entrance do not put Wloo E in the No Independent Entrance category.--SilasW (talk) 16:52, 21 January 2009 (UTC)
Move discussion in process
[edit]There is a move discussion in progress on Talk:London Paddington station which affects this page. Please participate on that page and not in this talk page section. Thank you. —RFC bot 12:00, 23 August 2009 (UTC)
Reversion of 02/12/2009
[edit]Wording "Ironicaly, under Roman times, there was a post in charge of arranging horse carriages for troops to move efficiently across Britain. The commander in charge was Pablus Ibanus" is without reference, is misspelled, has value judgement, does not connect to the subject, is wrong - Roman soldiers travelled on foot.--SilasW (talk) 11:43, 2 December 2009 (UTC)
London Bridge
[edit]I don't think it's true that all down trains stop at London Bridge... particularly during the peaks. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 62.7.68.66 (talk) 11:47, 13 October 2010 (UTC)
The Charing cross train ends in Bromley, not Kent
[edit]Which has been a London Borough since 1965. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.177.117.18 (talk) 22:07, 14 July 2013 (UTC)
- It depends which you mean by "the Charing Cross train". Pretty much every train out of Charing Cross calls at Waterloo East, and some do terminate at Bromley North; but quite a lot go to places like Dartford, Sevenoaks, Tonbridge, Ashford, Canterbury, Ramsgate and Dover - all of which are in Kent. --Redrose64 (talk) 14:38, 15 July 2013 (UTC)
Move this page
[edit]Shouldn't this page be moved to "Waterloo East railway station"? The signs on the station's platforms and at the entrances to the station do not say "London Waterloo East"; they simply say "Waterloo East". Captain Cornwall (talk) 22:26, 22 February 2015 (UTC)
- I agree. --TBM10 (talk) 19:49, 11 September 2015 (UTC)
- I'll take this as a consensus and have done it. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 19:01, 25 September 2018 (UTC)
