National Library of Spain ID (P950)
[edit]National Library of Spain ID (P950) is not working.
Example:
Old:
New:
Old: http://catalogo.bne.es/uhtbin/authoritybrowse.cgi?action=display&authority_id=$1
New: https://datos.bne.es/resource/$1

- @Tom.Reding: Another ping. I've restored this item, because it was archived. Please use the new url, because the old one is dysfunktional. Please add also Hessian Biography person (GND) ID (P13226) above. The pattern is available at sandbox.
- Shouldn't the new format actually be
https://catalogo.bne.es/discovery/authsearch?authorityQuery=$1&searchField=keyword&vid=34BNE_INST:CATALOGO
? Example. ArinArin (talk) 05:39, 2 March 2025 (UTC) Done. I've used Grimes' link because there was no response to Arin's suggestion — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 19:31, 25 March 2025 (UTC)
Test:
Remark: https://datos.bne.es/resource/$1 seems to be full functional.
Proposing a new identifier

Is it possible to add Kulturenvanteri monument ID (P11729)? It's a unique database for Turkey-related cultural monuments. Nanahuatl (talk) 01:37, 4 March 2025 (UTC)
- Please take a look at Module:Authority_control/config and propose new code to handle this new identifier. – Jonesey95 (talk) 17:31, 6 March 2025 (UTC)
- @Sadrettin:, can you help? Nanahuatl (talk) 06:39, 17 March 2025 (UTC)
Grimes2 (talk) 06:58, 17 March 2025 (UTC)
- Is there support for adding this identifier? (@Nanahuatl: we usually ask for consensus for adding new identifiers.) — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 19:03, 25 March 2025 (UTC)
- Support Grimes2 (talk) 19:06, 25 March 2025 (UTC)
- Added a validation pattern and added to /staging. Will deploy later — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 08:32, 27 March 2025 (UTC)
Additive version of whitelist?
[edit]Hello, by testing, it looks like application of, eg, |show=arts
or |country=ja
returns a reduced number of results from wikidata; there are number of wikidata properties that would be relevant for Japan-related pages, eg P4275, P12144, P12145, P4257, P9080 (with a couple more imminent, inc. P?????); there are thousands of pages for which these would be directly relevant, but they shouldn't clutter and make less efficient/more energy intensive the authority control for non-Japan-related pages; to have these added, without removal of other properties, would you populate the ja whitelist with the full authority control list, then add to this, or is there a way to add a smaller numer of ja-specific properties to the standard list (likely many of those at Template:Japan properties), via an additive equivalent to whitelist? I haven't raised it there yet, but would it be possible to run a bot to add this parameter to the authority control for all pages where the talk page is linked to Wikipedia:WikiProject Japan? Thank you, Maculosae tegmine lyncis (talk) 18:09, 13 March 2025 (UTC)
- It is not possible to do this currently. Adding a new identifier will add it to all pages, unless there are restricting them with
|show=
. I suppose we could make a default list of identifiers, and then if you wanted to add to these you could use something like|show=default, JA
. Or perhaps a new parameter like|show_also=
— Martin (MSGJ · talk) 08:47, 14 March 2025 (UTC)- Thank you.
|show_also=
in particular sounds good to me, Maculosae tegmine lyncis (talk) 09:13, 14 March 2025 (UTC)- In that case, it might be clearer to rename "show" to "show_only". What should happen if "show_only" and "show_also" are used at the same time? — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 19:05, 25 March 2025 (UTC)
- Thank you.
