Repeated Vandalism

[edit]

@Kautilya3: - There has been repeted vandalism by [this user] here. He keeps changing image of Sanchi torana to poor quality colonial map of India. Sanchi torana was template image for over 4 years, he keeps removing it claiming "that broken shit doesn’t represent India entirely". Considering it's oldest torana, an Indian architectural feature that also influenced other parts of Asia. I have resorted back sanchi torana, please take note. 117.198.113.101 (talk) 22:40, 13 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, thanks. In future, please write to the concerned editors on their user talk page, inviting them to discuss the issue. -- Kautilya3 (talk) 06:37, 14 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Lead image

[edit]

There seems to be edit conflict on the lead image. While the image of the Torana is lovely, the argument could be made why the Taj is not symbolic for India's history, or the Stupa of Sanchi, or a photo of the river Ganga. etc. A historic map covers more topics. Or find a solution like History of Japan's template, that uses various images. Gryffindor (talk) 22:51, 24 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Generally not a fan of maps in info boxes especially if it's not a geography of article.... because of the limitation of size that we can be produced in the info box without making the info box overwhelming. Basically an accessibility concern and recognition of topic concern. There's got to be something better than a non-legible non-english map we could use? Care and thought should be taking considering it's going to be representing the history of a country or region etc. simply. We'll ping the project ask those who are familiar with the topic what would be the best image to represent this. Moxy🍁 22:59, 24 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
