If you're going to revert a change that was trailed for 2 weeks on the Talk page, it would be helpful if you would at least comment on the Talk page! Shhhnotsoloud (talk) 17:59, 23 February 2025 (UTC)
Your edits in history templates
[edit]Hallo there, you are reverting edits of historic maps to history templates that have previously stood there, or where there was nothing else before. Feel free to improve but not to disrupt. Gryffindor (talk) 23:05, 24 February 2025 (UTC)
- I've already engaged on some of them,..... Glad to see you stopped the mass changing all over. Moxy🍁 23:09, 24 February 2025 (UTC)
Automatic translation
[edit]Hello @Moxy, some contributions you have made are possibly machine translations, which is why they have been modified or marked with the template. If no improvements are made to the article, it may be deleted.
If, despite all this information, you still have any questions, feel free to leave a message on [[User talk:|my talk page]]. Don't be discouraged by this little incident. Your contributions are very important to Wikipedia. 187.109.170.105 (talk) 03:13, 28 February 2025 (UTC)
- Think you got the wrong users....I don't do any sort of translation work. Moxy🍁 03:16, 28 February 2025 (UTC)
New message to Moxy
[edit]It's not my default interpretation of your edit summary on Coat of arms of Canada, but I wanted to make explicit that the IP (who touched off my noticing) isn't me, if just because I wanted to make clear I'm not interested in annoying you any further about the issue if no one else is interested. As always, I wish I had done things a bit more cleanly there, sorry. Cheers, hope you're well. Remsense ‥ 论 04:21, 4 March 2025 (UTC)
- My assumption it's been the same IP doing the same thing for some time not related to you at all. Moxy🍁 04:39, 4 March 2025 (UTC)
Calgary, largest…
[edit]You have not have figured this out yet, but you are pandering to blocked UrbanNerd. Hwy43 (talk) 04:45, 6 March 2025 (UTC)
- I'm unaware of who the IP is...but just cuz they're a blocked user doesn't mean they're not right. Do you think we should say the biggest the best and largest four times in the first sentence? Moxy🍁 04:51, 6 March 2025 (UTC)
- It doesn’t say best at all. You invented that. All four instances are facts. There are times I too am in agreement with points UrbanNerd makes, but the way he goes about it is unacceptable. In this case the second of fourth has no business in the lead. Elsewhere, Houston has "most populous" in five locations in its lead. This is the first place I looked. So three is satisfactory in comparison. I am going to sit back and watch for now to build the SPI case. The popcorn is popping. Hwy43 (talk) 05:08, 6 March 2025 (UTC)
- Not about inventing things it has to do with fluff an expressions..... all these things should be mentioned but in the first few sentences just reads oddly. Had no clue this editor was still around. Why have they not created new accounts and hiding like User:Skookum1 and a a few others I'm aware of that have second and third accounts. I guess it has to do with approach User:Skookum1 no longer engages with people thus is a productive member. Moxy🍁 05:15, 6 March 2025 (UTC)
- I hear you on the fluff. I am seeing that the first paragraph is very brief, so I get the odd look. I have an idea how to fix it but will watch for a bit first. Would appreciate your support when I step in, if you agree. UrbanNerd gave up on creating new accounts because of all the SPIs. His MO is to IP-hop as it is easier to go undetected by sharp eyes. I don’t miss Skookum1, but appreciate his self-discipline to stay away. Hwy43 (talk) 05:31, 6 March 2025 (UTC)
- Sounds good I'll back you up when need be as your proposals usually make sense and are very logical. Moxy🍁 05:33, 6 March 2025 (UTC)
- Thanks. Cheers, Hwy43 (talk) 05:36, 6 March 2025 (UTC)

I don't think it should be deleted
[edit]Brother no kidding the Antonio Riano Page shouldn't be deleted he has won 2 medals in the Olympics one gold one silver and he is very famous in Cuba (you'd know if you went there) also brother there is no point in deleting and withholding history MrVC25 (talk) 04:38, 7 March 2025 (UTC)

- Ok thank you brother MrVC25 (talk) 05:13, 7 March 2025 (UTC)
- As far as I can tell Riano has not won two Olympic medals. That would show that he likely notable per WP:NOLYMPICS, but he has instead won two Pan American Games medals. That does not necessarily make him notable. See WP:ATHLETE. Meters (talk) 05:30, 7 March 2025 (UTC)
- Either way he completed in the 1980 summer Olympics as the wiki says with reference MrVC25 (talk) 05:38, 7 March 2025 (UTC)
Either way
? There's a big difference between claiming he won two Olympic medals and that he simply competed. Again, read WP:NOLYMPICS. Simply competing in the Olympics is not enough to show that the is notable. If he has received significant media coverage then provide some sources. Meters (talk) 06:04, 7 March 2025 (UTC)- I did the correct procedure and objected end of story if you want to argue about it argue with the person who made the procedure that way MrVC25 (talk) 06:05, 7 March 2025 (UTC)

Canada list
[edit]Please stop. There are tens of lists like this, all passed the featured list nomination, meaning that the style is appropriate, and the style is the same in all. By changing one you are introducing a mess and inconsistency. Lists are fine as they are. Tone 20:04, 9 March 2025 (UTC)
- Why would you not upgrade the coding so reading accessibility is better for all? PLs apply common sense to what your doing. Thinking getting outside opinions here as this upgrade is going on through out Canada related articles. Will start an RFC for you shortly and will also adderss about WP:SANDWICHING and why tables with sticky headers help

- I am all for changes if we apply them over all articles. But we need to be systematic, not only on one - you see my point? Sure, let's get a good discussion on that. Tone 09:09, 10 March 2025 (UTC)
- Actually, sticky header is great. What I currently don't like is the bold text for the first column, which was not the case in the previous version. If we find a way to fix that, I'm all good ;) Tone 09:20, 10 March 2025 (UTC)

[edit] Your recent editing history at United States shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war; read about how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.
Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you do not violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. --Plumber (talk) 23:42, 13 March 2025 (UTC)

France
[edit]@Moxy Why have you reverted my edit on the France infobox. The link between Francia and France is notorious and all the list of French kings begin with Clovis. Futhermore the mention of 481 is in the Infobox of the francophone version of France.
Best regards Belysarius (talk) 10:32, 21 March 2025 (UTC)
- The last Germanic tribe where French? Are you talking about the France article or the Germany article?Moxy🍁 02:51, 22 March 2025 (UTC)
Eritrea
[edit]Hello! I saw you reverted my edit for Eritrea. I included the chart there because Eritrea has never conducted an official census, and estimations of population varied greatly, so the census data from the past are valuable. I wouldn't call it "overly detailed statistical charts and diagrams that lack any context or explanation" because the lack of population census data after 1983, as well as the drastically different estimations today, was clearly explained in that section, and 1983 data serves as a great baseline when referencing today's estimation. Help with talk page.
[edit]Hi Moxy. Question. How do I add my articles submission for the 4 list of wars involving the United States articles to my User talk:Historyguy1138?
I would ideally like to have these and any future articles here for my personal review. Thanks.
Also thanks for clearing these articles, clearing them up, and your willingness to compromise. I think these will be great tools for our readers. Great work.
