E-mails

[edit]

You can use "Email this user", but I will probably reply on your talk page, or the article talk page, as discussions should be open and on the record.
I have experienced problems with e-mails not being delivered, so please leave me a message on this page if I have not replied within 48 hours.

Broadcasted

[edit]

The Wiktionary definition of Broadcasted states the use is sometimes proscribed, so it should not be used. The word also appears on Wikipedia:Lists_of_common_misspellings/B

Broadcasted appears in some dictionaries, but others, e.g. Chambers state "Sorry, no entries for Broadcasted were found".
Broadcast appears in all dictionaries, and should be used as COMMONALITY - "Wikipedia tries to find words that are common to all varieties of English".

A May 2023 search for Broadcast gave over 234,000 uses, compared with a search for Broadcasted which gave just 99.
Of these, 16 are redirects to "Broadcast" articles, 14 refer to a 2015 Canadian TV award and 5 relate to a 1924 cartoon. The rest are in quotations.

Sock

[edit]

This is likely the sock of the Italian IP LTA we deal frequently. If I'm not wrong, they made an account sometime back which got blocked as well. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 13:24, 21 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi - Fylindfotberserk, agreed. The first few edits were to "new" target articles, the later ones were to "known" target articles. The only account I know to have been blocked was RiccardoBallarotti in 2023 - Best wishes - Arjayay (talk) 14:35, 21 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. Should we start an SPI so that all these accounts get clubbed together? - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 14:51, 21 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
You could try, but I suspect that being over 2 years old RiccardoBallarotti will be "stale" - as we know, they usually use IPs - Arjayay (talk) 14:57, 21 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, could you keep an eye on this IP likely a proxy, making changes like these. Thanks. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 14:05, 27 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Fylindfotberserk - it is not showing as a proxy on my checker, but as I've said, somewhere before, these are not always accurate. Recently, there have been several IPs from Melbourne, Australia editing Indian articles, mostly false figures - I've not seen the WP:INDICSCRIPT problem from them before. Best wishes. - Arjayay (talk) 14:15, 27 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. I also came across another [1], likely the same person. Their edits are Bengal-centric and obvious ethnicity and indicscript based POV. I've seen a similar by newbie users in a set of articles few months back. Have to check it. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 14:19, 27 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Please look this article. Unreliable sources per WP:NEWSORGINDIA are continuously re-adding. Epicion (talk) 12:00, 23 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Mass moves

[edit]

Hi. I saw you reverted a couple of moves made by this editor. I've given them a CT warning for IPA but do the rest look ok? RegentsPark (comment) 15:21, 23 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi RegentsPark, thanks for the post. They appear to be mass movements to Tamil spellings, contrary to WP:COMMONNAME, without altering the spellings within the articles to match and leaving articles at odds with related articles - e.g. Thiruvallur taluk is part of Tiruvallur district, which was not changed. I think a mass rollback is in order. - Arjayay (talk) 15:30, 23 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Hmm. I'll drop a note on their page as an added warning. Could you do the rollback? I'm not sure what script to use. RegentsPark (comment) 15:54, 23 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Hi RegentsPark - I thought admins had a mass-rollback tool? or doesn't that work on page moves? - Arjayay (talk) 16:06, 23 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
You're right. There is a script that only admins can use. Will need to look for it though since I haven't installed it or used it and I don't really have the time to figure this out. Perhaps @Drmies: can help? RegentsPark (comment) 18:24, 23 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Ok - done manually by myself and User:CX Zoom - Arjayay (talk) 20:39, 23 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks--I wouldn't know how to work that anyway. :) Drmies (talk) 13:36, 24 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Following on from my Talk Page (as per your request)

[edit]
Hi,
I'd not seen the part where you'd asked me to bring this up on your talk page rather than mine, so I'm doing that following on from here: User talk:Temporary 1010#Your recent edits May I ask the reason me editing my old message was reverted? I was improving the quality of previous content posted by myself; messages that I felt were not fact based, off-topic, wording that I consider impolite, hence I had edited them. Happy to discuss.
Thanks for your message.

Temporary 1010 (talk) 16:11, 26 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Temporary 1010 - In what way was overwriting other peoples posts "improving the quality of previous content posted by myself"?
In what way was taking old posts from the archives, dating back to 2014, "improving the quality of previous content posted by myself"?
We do not re-factor (alter) posts by other people, whether you feel they were "off-topic" or contained "wording that [you] consider impolite", or not. - Arjayay (talk) 16:21, 26 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry what? Had I edited other peoples' posts?
As far as I recall, I only edited content I posted, if I had edited that of anyone else's then it was most certainly an accident on my part.
If so, I apologize; my intention was not to edit anything other than what I had posted. Temporary 1010 (talk) 16:32, 26 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

"Duplicate word removed"

[edit]

Duplicate word removed: I reckon you need apply the tool "triplicate word removed" first. :-) --Altenmann >talk 21:41, 28 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
