Proposed deletion of Blue Sky, Blue Sea, Inc.
[edit]The article Blue Sky, Blue Sea, Inc. has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- Fails GNG: Unable to identify any independent, reliable sources in any language offering more than a trivial mention.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. —swpbT 13:35, 30 August 2016 (UTC)

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a notice to inform you that a tag has been placed on Treaty with the Ottawa, etc. requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, a "See also" section, book references, category tags, template tags, interwiki links, images, a rephrasing of the title, a question that should have been asked at the help or reference desks, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

Hyphens
[edit]Do you know offhand what the rules are for writing Ojibwe with hyphens? Are they used at any morpheme boundary, or only particular ones? This is for a discussion on Wiktionary where someone posted a new entry for the very long word miinibaashkiminasiganibiitoosijiganibadagwiingweshiganibakwezhigan, but since youre more active here I wanted to ask the question here instead. Is it possible that there are multiple correct systems, and that it can be correct to never use hyphens at all, just as it is correct to use them in a certain prescribed way? Thank you, —Soap— 18:23, 30 March 2020 (UTC)
By the way, you can use {{reflist-talk}} if the orphaned refs at the bottom of the screen are bothering you. —Soap— 18:26, 30 March 2020 (UTC)
- In the Fiero Roman (which in your example you have used), hyphens are used only to separate preverb blocks from each other and from the main word. Example: ziibi (river) → misi-ziibi (great river; Mississippi). If you want to break a long word, then either a double hyphen ⟨꞊⟩ or its substitute the equal sign ⟨=⟩ is used in the following precedence:
- morpheme boundary, or
- syllable boundary but ensuring there are at least two syllables in either the widow line or the orphan line belonging to the word or its principle morphemes.
- So, in your example of miini꞊baashkiminasigani꞊biitoosijigani꞊badagwiingweshigani꞊bakwezhigan, the morphological breaks are indicated with ꞊, while acceptable syllable break points in addition to the morphological boundaries are indicated here with • (but in practice, also with a double hyphen):
- miini꞊baashki•mi•na•si•gani꞊biitoo•si•ji•gani꞊bada•gwiin•gwe•shi•gani꞊bakwe•zhigan

[edit]Following up on email exchange
[edit]Hello! I contacted the staff of the Mille Lacs newspaper Ojibwe Inaajimowin by email and was referred to you.
I actually got stalled out at the point of creating Wikidata entry for Ojibwe Inaajimowin; I couldn't add the publication's title properly because Ojibwe languages haven't been registered within the Wikidata software yet, so I created a Phabricator ticket Phabricator:T268431 requesting that be done.
I hope you don't mind that I reproduced the pertinent part of your response there. I think knowing ciw
is the correct ISO code in this specific case is enough to move forward but you're welcome to create a Phabricator account, if you don't already have one, and join the discussion. I created an account at this page.
Thank you very much for enlightening us. (And of course feel free to add to the Wikidata entry for the newspaper or correct anything I've gotten wrong.) --‿Ꞅtruthious 𝔹andersnatch ͡ |℡| 22:39, 2 December 2020 (UTC)
- Miigwech (Thank you). There is a note that I will post there. The title of the publication is in
ciw
but the publication is mostly in English with only one page per issue written in Anishinaabemowin. So, classifying it asoj
would not be accurate, as it should say it is in bothen-us
and inoj
. CJLippert (talk) 14:35, 7 December 2020 (UTC)- I have marked the language Ojibwe Inaajimowin is written in as both English and Anishinaabemowin, and have added Anishinaabemowin as a name of the language's entry itself. Thank you again for all your help. --‿Ꞅtruthious 𝔹andersnatch ͡ |℡| 16:59, 9 December 2020 (UTC)
