April 2024

[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm Toddy1. Wikipedia has a concept of verifiability, not truth. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Economy of India, but you didn't provide a citation to a reliable source. The existing number was supported by the citation next to it. Your edit has been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation to a reliable source that supports your number, then you can and re-add it. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you want to discuss it, you can leave a message on Talk:Economy of India. Thank you. -- Toddy1 (talk) 14:42, 13 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Dear @Fylindfotberserk its agreed per consensus that Hindu synthesis began around 2nd Century BC the before in existence was Brahmanism.See Historical Vedic religion.I have always reverted vandal edits please don't call anyone disruptive on your presumptions. Edasf (talk) 10:47, 21 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Your edits are disruptive since you clearly changed the sourced content. If necessary seek consensus in the article talk page per WP:BRD instead of resorting to edit wars. Also the section itself maintains that Pre-Nanda era followed Brahmanism, as well as Mauryas reintroduced it after the Nandas were removed. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 10:53, 21 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
See my linked page calling Brahmanism as Hinduism isnt correct. Edasf (talk) 11:10, 21 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Expedition of Chenab by Alexander the Great and Porous, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Ravi. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, --DPL bot (talk) 19:53, 13 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Please fix your signature

[edit]

Your signature has unbalanced markup. Please fix it so that there is bold and italic markup at the end, along with a closing span tag, as shown in this edit. Thanks. – Jonesey95 (talk) 16:40, 25 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hello @Edasf, this is regarding the new article you just created. I think the article would pass general notability guidelines. However, the name "Sino-Kannauj war" doesn't appear in any scholarly sources and thus you should rename it. PadFoot (talk) 15:29, 1 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@PadFoot2008 Well, I used this name since other names like Wang Xuance-Kannauj war would make title lengthy and inappropriate per WP:CONCISE and WP:PRECISE.You can suggest a new title. Edasf (talk) 16:05, 1 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Edasf, I'm not finding a short name for it unfortunately. "Sino-Kannauj war" would be WP:OR, so a descriptive title like "War between Wang Xuance and Arunasva" would need to do. PadFoot (talk) 16:12, 1 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@PadFoot2008 Done Edasf (talk) 16:34, 1 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Edasf, I believe that Arunasva should be mentioned here to be specific, and "invasion of India" sounds too big of an event if all he did was march to a city in the Doab (compared to a large-scale campaign for conquest). I think perhaps "Conflict between Wang Xuance and Arunasva" or "War between Wang Xuance and Arunasva" would be good here. PadFoot (talk) 16:46, 1 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@PadFoot2008 Done. Edasf (talk) 16:52, 1 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

the map I have added is based on the "source" mentioned in the article or map's caption itself

The current maximum extent map isn't even following the sources they have cited, please see for yourself. JingJongPascal (talk) 15:07, 8 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Introduction to contentious topics

[edit]

You have recently edited a page related to India, Pakistan, and Afghanistan, a topic designated as contentious. This is a brief introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.

A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia’s norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have an expanded level of powers and discretion in order to reduce disruption to the project.

Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:

Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures, you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template.

[edit]

Hello! Voting in the 2024 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 2 December 2024. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2024 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:49, 19 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please do not remove Articles for deletion notices from articles or remove other people's comments in Articles for deletion pages, as you did with Sino-Kannauj War. Information icon Hello, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. A page you created or have recently made significant changes to, Sino-Kannauj War, may not conform to some of Wikipedia's guidelines for pages, so it has been blanked and redirected. Three typical reasons for this are that: (1) the article's subject appears to fail our notability guidelines; (2) the article is unsourced; or (3) the sources used in the article are unreliable. The page's history is preserved and it is possible to restore the article: If you believe that this page should remain included on Wikipedia or that this action was taken in error, then you may revert the edit that blanked and redirected the page.
