Orphaned fair use image (Image:1982-emblem.JPG)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:1982-emblem.JPG. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Talk pages

[edit]

Hi, there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. On many keyboards, the tilde is entered by holding the Shift key, and pressing the key with the tilde pictured. You may also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! ♦Tangerines BFC ♦·Talk 02:34, 4 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your contribution to Talk:Copa América 2007, but we are trying to write an encyclopedia here, so please keep your edits factual and neutral. Copa América 2007

[edit]

Please stop editing details from each match while it is in progress. It has already been agreed that live edits are done after the final whistle and not before. That is why the tag is there asking editors not to edit during each match. In addition amending the Group B table to read that teams have played their third and final game whilst it is still in progress should also not be done. Any further edits you make during games will only be reverted. ♦Tangerines BFC ♦·Talk 22:57, 4 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Duplicate images uploaded

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:1954.jpg. A machine-controlled robot account noticed that you also uploaded the same image under the name Image:WorldCup1954.jpg. The copy called Image:WorldCup1954.jpg has been marked for speedy deletion since it is redundant. If this sounds okay to you, there is no need for you to take any action.

This is an automated message- you have not upset or annoyed anyone, and you do not need to respond. In the future, you may save yourself some confusion if you supply a meaningful file name and refer to 'my contributions' to remind yourself exactly which name you chose (file names are case sensitive, including the extension) so that you won't lose track of your uploads. For tips on good file naming, see Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions about this notice, or feel that the deletion is inappropriate, please contact User:Staecker, who operates the robot account. Staeckerbot 04:15, 8 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions in a content dispute within a 24 hour period. Additionally, users who perform a large number of reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring, even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing. Please do not repeatedly revert edits, but use the talk page to work towards wording and content which gains a consensus among editors.

Your edits to FIFA World Cup and other articles are disruptive. Please discuss why you want to make these changes on the appropriate talk pages. If you continue to revert these articles without any explanation, either on the talk page or in the edit summary, you will be blocked from editing. Orphaned non-free image (Image:WorldCup1994logo.gif)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:WorldCup1994logo.gif. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. fuzzy510 20:32, 22 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not use Talk pages as forums

[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia! I am glad to see you are interested in discussing a topic. However, as a general rule, talk pages such as Talk:United States men's national soccer team are for discussion related to improving the article, not general discussion about the topic. Please refrain from doing this in the future. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. After Midnight 0001 04:37, 31 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have perfomed a web search with the contents of Torneo Grandes de Centroamerica 1998, and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://www.rsssf.com/tablesc/ca-grandes98.html. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot 02:25, 10 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading Image:Mexico1986poster.JPG. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI 00:58, 24 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

Orphaned non-free media (Image:WorldCup1974poster.jpg)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:WorldCup1974poster.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 13:33, 9 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Ec2000ms.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Ec2000ms.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to make constructive contributions to Wikipedia, at least one of your recent edits, such as the one you made to 2006 FIFA World Cup, did not appear to be constructive and has been reverted or removed. Please use the sandbox for any test edits you would like to make, and take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. - PeeJay 02:03, 5 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on 2006 FIFA World Cup. Please do not repeatedly revert edits, but use the talk page to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors. ♦Tangerines♦·Talk 03:37, 5 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I will make one final appeal. The above article is clearly in dispute about its content. You have now reverted edits three times in 24 hours on that article something that is prohibited on wikipedia especially when you are giving no edit summary or explanation, nor have you even discussed your edits as requested, on the articles talk page. Please refrain from reverting again before discussing the content on the articles talk page. ♦Tangerines♦·Talk 14:38, 5 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You have been blocked from editing for a period of one week in accordance with Wikipedia's blocking policy for abuse of editing privileges. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make constructive contributions. If you believe this block is unjustified, you may contest the block by adding the text {{unblock|your reason here}} below.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it may be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. Concacaf Champions League

[edit]

Why did you already edit the Concacaf Champions League page? You may have noticed that on Talk:CONCACAF Champions League that a user had quite reasonably suggested that the idea of merging the two articles be discussed before anything was done. Why did you edit without an agreement being reached? Also, if you are going to add previous winners wouldn't it be logical to explain in the article why there are past winners listed for a tournament that hasnt' happened yet? Also, consider the Cup Winners Cup in Europe, no wiki page for a European cup competition carries the history of the tournament. Concacaf Champions Cup was a cup winners cup, the Champions League will be very different than that. It is a completly different tournament which is why this should have been discussed before you made wholesale changes.NeilCanada (talk) 05:46, 10 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You need to look again. The European Cup winner's results are added to the Champions League results. As well as many, many competitions.

If that is the case I am wrong on that, but I still think it would be more reasonable if it was waited to make major changes like you made until after some discussion had occured. Also, if you are going to make changes like that you should explain it within the article so that it makes sense.NeilCanada (talk) 14:58, 10 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Check out this link, http://www.concacaf.com/view_article.asp?id=4084 notice that in a CONCACAF press conference they are using the logo that you removed from the article. I think it belongs where it was. NeilCanada (talk) 16:13, 19 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (Image:78.jpg)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:78.jpg.

Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 12:04, 8 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Image:WorldCup1930lposter.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section I8 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is available as a bit-for-bit identical copy on the Wikimedia Commons under the same name, or all references to the image on Wikipedia have been updated to point to the title used at Commons.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on [[ Talk:Image:WorldCup1930lposter.jpg|the talk page]] explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. BJTalk 12:03, 7 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This split was carried out with a consensus. Stop vandalising by restoring the old version. – PeeJay 01:02, 11 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Again, there were four people who commented on this split at WT:FOOTY and none of them had any objections to it, provided that the history of the original article remained intact. Since a lack of objection can be taken as support for a proposal, there is clearly a consensus FOR this split. Therefore, if you revert again, you will be reported for vandalism, and possibly breaking the three revert rule. – PeeJay 01:51, 11 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Please, check WP Talk:FOOTY. —Lesfer (t/c/@) 14:58, 11 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
You have been reported at WP:AIV. I am willing to accept that my actions were incorrect in the first place, but what you are doing now is just as bad, if not worse. I hope you will consider entering into a civil discussion about this, as these petty reversions have to stop. – PeeJay 20:56, 11 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

File source problem with File:Stade de la Mosson.JPG

[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Stade de la Mosson.JPG. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of that website's terms of use of its content. However, if the copyright holder is a party unaffiliated from the website's publisher, that copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider verifying that you have specified sources for those files as well. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged per Wikipedia's criteria for speedy deletion, F4. If the image is copyrighted and non-free, the image will be deleted 48 hours after 23:01, 8 January 2011 (UTC) per speedy deletion criterion F7. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ww2censor (talk) 23:01, 8 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for File:Lifting the World Cup of Champions trophy.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Lifting the World Cup of Champions trophy.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. ==Speedy deletion nomination of File:Estadio José Amalfitani.JPG==

A tag has been placed on File:Estadio José Amalfitani.JPG, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:

obvious copyright violation. see http://www.soccers.fr/lofiversion/index.php/t27096.html

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Kafuffle (talk) 11:29, 9 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
