Speedy deletion nomination of Port Brewing Company
[edit]
A tag has been placed on Port Brewing Company requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for organizations and companies. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Copying within Wikipedia requires attribution
[edit] Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from Devilock into Misfits (band). While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g.,
copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution
. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. Please provide attribution for this duplication if it has not already been supplied by another editor, and if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, you should provide attribution for that also. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. — Diannaa (talk) 11:47, 22 September 2023 (UTC)
Calm down
[edit]You don’t need to keep trying to be the first one to edit pages when there are unconfirmed reports on a subject matter. Your edits have been reverted several times now and yet you repeatedly keep trying to force unconfirmed reports into a wiki page. Let it go. You don’t need to be the one who makes the edit when it’s confirmed. It isn’t a competition. 184.58.223.53 (talk) 17:24, 25 January 2024 (UTC)

The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
If you wish to participate in the 2024 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}}
to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:22, 19 November 2024 (UTC)
Disambiguation link notification for March 8
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Suica, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Akita. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, --DPL bot (talk) 07:55, 8 March 2025 (UTC)

[edit] Please do not add promotional material to Wikipedia, as you did to Carlsbad, California. While objective prose about beliefs, organisations, people, products or services is acceptable, Wikipedia is not a vehicle for soapboxing, advertising or promotion. Your edits were mostly unsourced and poorly-sourced promos. You are welcome to add the well-sourced demographic section back. Magnolia677 (talk) 23:25, 8 March 2025 (UTC)
- Hi Magnolia677, I appreciate the feedback and want to make sure my contributions align with wikipedia’s guidelines.
- Could you help clarify which specific parts were promotional? I made multiple changes, including updates to the economy, tourism, and politics sections, and I want to ensure that only neutral, well-sourced content is included.
- Additionally, you mentioned that I could add back the well-sourced demographic section—which part were you referring to? I’d be happy to reintroduce properly cited content.
- Thank you for your time and guidance. Looking forward to improving the article collaboratively. Hifisamurai (talk) 20:00, 9 March 2025 (UTC)
- "Carlsbad continues to invest in its tourism industry, with improvements in beach facilities, visitor services, and marketing initiatives to attract travelers year-round"...kinda looks like a cut-and-paste for the tourist board. Magnolia677 (talk) 20:31, 9 March 2025 (UTC)
- @Magnolia677 Actually, look at their other articles created as well as edits. It screams PR editing. Graywalls (talk) 02:56, 16 March 2025 (UTC)

Hello, I'm Protobowladdict. An edit that you recently made seemed to be generated using a large language model (an "AI chatbot" or other application using such technology). Text produced by these applications can be unsuitable for an encyclopedia, and output must be carefully checked. Your edit may have been reverted. If you want to practice editing, please use your sandbox. If you think a mistake was made, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. ProtobowlAddict uwu! - Thank you for the feedback, dully noted. For what its worth, I did use Grammarly for spell check and grammer, and perhaps their suggestion might come off AI driven. I will need to be extra diligent this does not happen. Appreciate you. Hifisamurai (talk) 16:19, 13 March 2025 (UTC)

Hello Hifisamurai. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being employed (or being compensated in any way) by a person, group, company or organization to promote their interests. Paid advocacy on Wikipedia must be disclosed even if you have not specifically been asked to edit Wikipedia. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.
Paid advocates are strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.
Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Hifisamurai. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Hifisamurai|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}
. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. Your edits on various pages suggest public relations editing Graywalls (talk) 18:47, 15 March 2025 (UTC)

Hello!
[edit]Hi Hifisamurai! I hope you don't mind, but I wanted to pop onto your talkpage really quickly and have a chat with you about your editing so far. Firstly, thank you for all the contributions you've been making! They're much appreciated. I do have a few pieces of advice - hopefully you'll find them helpful!
Firstly, sourcing. Everything on Wikipedia has to be supported by a reliable source. These sources also should be as independent from the subject as possible. That really just means that whenever you want to add a fact you've learnt to an article, you should try and look for something like a newspaper article or a magazine profile which confirms that the fact is true.
Secondly, and this is related to sourcing, other Wikipedia editors (and most of our readers) aren't really that interested in what a subject has to say about itself. You can add super basic facts sourced to, say, the subject's own website or podcast, but these should be really basic facts that nobody could doubt. Stuff like "the article subject's middle name" or "what state this company is based in" are completely okay. Stuff like "this company's mission is to do X" or a very long paragraph talking about how important the founder is - that's not okay. If you can't find the information in an independent source, then that's a sign it might not be a good idea to add it!
Finally, (and this is the most important) please don't copy-paste material from external websites or generative AI into Wikipedia! It looks like you've recently been using Grammarly for help? That's okay for simple spellcheck or grammar fixes, but Grammarly is a program that's designed for students and people working in corporate offices. Grammarly's idea of "good writing" is targeted at those two demographics - which basically means that it produces text designed to convince people of ideas, or sell them a product in perfect marketing speak. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia - our goal is sort of to be as dry and neutral as possible. Grammarly has also started using generative AI recently, as it looks like you've found out. That's been making your edits seem very promotional, and it's why you've had a few very cross editors come to your talk page.
Now, I know this message is a bit long, and hope I haven't thrown too many policy links at you! If you need help, feel free to ask at our friendly help forum, the Teahouse. It says its for new Wikipedia editors, but the Wikipedians there like helping people and will answer questions from just about anybody. If you're having trouble figuring out if a source is independent enough, or if your tone is okay, please don't hesitate to make a post there and ask! Happy editing! Listening Bar moved to draftspace
[edit]Thanks for your contributions to Listening Bar. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it needs more sources to establish notability. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.
Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit for review" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. Hey man im josh (talk) 19:06, 17 March 2025 (UTC)
