Articles for Creation backlog drive

[edit]

Hello Protobowladdict:

WikiProject Articles for creation is holding a month long Backlog Drive in June!
The goal of this drive is to reduce the backlog of unreviewed drafts to less than 1 month of outstanding reviews from the current 3+ months. Bonus points will be given for reviewing drafts that have been waiting more than 30 days. The drive is running from 1 June 2025 through 30 June 2025.

You may find Category:AfC pending submissions by age or other categories and sorting helpful.

Barnstars will be given out as awards at the end of the drive.
There is a backlog of over 3200 pages, so start reviewing drafts. We're looking forward to your help! MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:25, 20 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Request on 20:54:08, 20 May 2025 for assistance on AfC submission by Stephype

[edit]

Hi - Thank you for reviewing my recent draft that I wrote for Sourhouse. I looked at other Wikipedia pages in their category (Other Kickstarter funded projects, other companies that make products for sourdough bakers) and I tried to copy their format closely, and I always linked out to news media sources.

Can you tell me specifically what I need to remove or change to better meet your guidelines?

Thank you.

Stephype (talk) 20:54, 20 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! The article needs to be written in a neutral tone. Examples of non-neutral writing in your passage include the Goldie by Sourhouse being described as "thoughtfully designed" and the Sourhouse Starter Jar having a "clean, functional design". Also, I think that the media coverage section of your writing should be deleted. Hope this helps. ProtobowlAddict talk! 22:44, 20 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

It would be better to not reply to likely vandals, or disruptors, that could possibly antagonize them further, even if you think it might be possibly funny to mimic their speech, or such... ~Lofty abyss 00:55, 29 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

+1. Came here from your usage of youth slang on this talk page and was a little disappointed to learn that this is not the first instance of you doing this. Please don't feed the trolls. Best, -- Patient Zerotalk 02:42, 5 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

  1. Hi Protobowladdict, can you help me understand what's needed? I have sources from 9 News, and Denver Post, but how is it not any different from the NFL Scouting Combine page? Bifty (talk) 23:58, 6 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

  1. Hi ProtoBowl, can you help me with another article?
    Draft:Adriene Akiko Clark
I am just lost, I am doing this out of courtesy because I am a fan of Competition climbing, and give my free time to creating wiki articles for Rookies going pro. To me it seems team USA teammates that she competes with have the same or less references and are public. Can you advise what is missing please? I keep getting denied.

Hello Protobowladdict. This is a reminder that your Articles for Creation review on Don't Click Play is still marked as ongoing for over forty-eight hours. After seventy-two hours, Don't Click Play will be returned to the review queue so that other reviewers may review the draft.

If you wish to continue reviewing the draft but need more time before the bot returns it to the review queue, you can place {{bots|deny=TenshiBot}} on the draft so you can continue your review. Also, if you do not want to receive these notifications, you can place the same template on your talk page. TenshiBot (talk) 09:39, 10 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. You're invited to participate in The World Destubathon. We're aiming to destub a lot of articles and also improve longer stale articles. It will be held from Monday June 16 - Sunday July 13. There is over $3300 going into it, with $500 the top prize. If you are interested in winning something to save you money in buying books for future content, or just see it as a good editathon opportunity to see a lot of articles improved for subjects which interest you, sign up on the page in the participants section if interested. Even if you can only manage a few articles they would be very much appreciated and help make the content produced as diverse and broad as possible! ♦ Dr. Blofeld 18:25, 15 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

June Backlog Drive is almost over!

[edit]
Our pending drafts!

Hi! Thanks for participating in the Articles for Creation June Backlog Drive! We've done amazing work so far, dropping the backlog by more than 2000 drafts already. We have around 400 drafts outstanding, and we need your help to get that down to zero in 5 days. We can do this, but we need all hands on deck to make this happen. A list of the pending drafts can be found at WP:AFCSORT, where you can select submissions in your area of interest. Thank you so much for your work so far, and happy reviewing! – DreamRimmer 01:33, 25 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Request on 11:52:11, 1 July 2025 for assistance on AfC submission by Rahulkrsah

Hello,
This is Articles for Creation, not Templates for Creation. The correct place to request templates is WP:Requested templates. ProtobowlAddict talk! 13:57, 1 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

How do I move my template?

[edit]

You recently declined my template submission because I submitted it to article requests. I cannot seem to figure out how to move my draft to template requests. How do I do that? Bertuccistonite (talk) 14:14, 1 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I think you create a new request and just put a link to your declined draft. ProtobowlAddict talk! 14:18, 1 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Request on 21:07:47, 4 July 2025 for assistance on AfC submission by Tarna652

[edit]

Hello, what was wrong with the sources that I used in this draft? It says the sources must be in-depth, reliable, secondary, and strictly independent. The only thing that may be questionable is the in-depth one, but I followed the format of Denmark High School (Georgia), a different high school opened in that county in the same year, which uses all the same types of sources as the draft. Thanks -Tarna652 (talk) 21:07, 4 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think the Denmark High School article has sources that verify its notability, just an announcement about its opening and data. I'll try to look for sources tomorrow, and will nominate it for deletion if I can't find any. ProtobowlAddict talk! 02:48, 5 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Denmark does have a lot of news articles that aren't just announcements. Mainly things related to sports and other awards. If sources like that will make the Alliance one better as well, I will look into adding those to it and the Denmark one in the morning. Tarna652 (talk) 03:58, 5 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

AFC request

  1. Hi ProtobowlAddict,
Thank you for taking the time to review the draft on Dr. Md. Fakhrul Islam. I noticed the draft was declined, and I completely understand your point about the need for stronger independent sourcing.
I just wanted to ask: if the official BUET Department of Nanomaterials and Ceramic Engineering website (https://nce.buet.ac.bd) is updated to explicitly state that Dr. Fakhrul Islam founded the department, would that be accepted as a reliable source to reflect this fact in the article?
For context, BUET (Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology) is the top-ranked engineering university in Bangladesh, and the department website (any page under buet.ac.bd) is maintained by the university administration.
I’d really appreciate your guidance before making changes. Thank you again!
    Best,
    Aminagorik61 Aminagorik61 (talk) 21:01, 4 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Articles can refer to sources that are associated with the subject, as long as there are more independent sources not associated with the subject. Since the subject of the article works at BUET, this is associated with the subject, but you can still include it anyway. As long as there are more independent than non independent, it would be okay.
