Introduction to contentious topics

[edit]

You have recently edited a page related to India, Pakistan, and Afghanistan, a topic designated as contentious. This is a brief introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.

A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia’s norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have an expanded level of powers and discretion in order to reduce disruption to the project.

Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:

Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures, you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template.

Information icon Hi Rohit Mahra! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor at Rajbanshi people that may not have been. "Minor edit" has a specific definition on Wikipedia—it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Thank you. Ekdalian (talk) 07:08, 29 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Hussaini Brahmin, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Gujarati. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Information icon Please do not move a page to a title that is harder to follow, or move it unilaterally against naming conventions or consensus, as you did to Christianity in Nagaland. This includes making page moves while a discussion remains underway. We have some guidelines to help with deciding what title is best for a subject. If you would like to experiment with page titles and moving, please use the test Wikipedia. Thank you. Wikishovel (talk) 17:10, 17 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Arab-Israeli Conflict

[edit]

Information icon You have recently made edits related to the Arab–Israeli conflict. This is a standard message to inform you that the Arab–Israeli conflict is a designated contentious topic. This message does not imply that there are any issues with your editing. Additionally, editors must be logged-in, have 500 edits and an account age of 30 days, and are not allowed to make more than 1 revert on the same page within 24 hours for pages within this topic. For more information about the contentious topics system, please see Wikipedia:Contentious topics. MolecularPilot 🧪️✈️ 03:35, 22 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Please note that the AN thread you have started violates this rule, as you are not extended confirmed. Thank you. :) MolecularPilot 🧪️✈️ 03:39, 22 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
i not talking about any conflict but I raised questions about page style or neutrality, because it's totally based on jewish perspective not a neutral Rohit Mahra (talk) 03:44, 22 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Your complaint is about Zionism, which is obviously related to the Arab-Israeli conflict. If you continue to make edits about that page, or anything else related to the Arab-Israeli conflict, before your account reaches 500 edits and 30 days, you will be blocked from editing. This is an across-the-board rule we apply to all new users, regardless of their political views. -- Tamzin[cetacean needed] (they|xe|🤷) 03:55, 22 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
i does not mean about race or religion or anything which can leads to hate , I am talking about perspective on seeing things. I am not taking rt wing not left wing. I just questions page neutrality but it's includes favour on single ideology. If I use the name , I know, it's very sensitive topic but I not want to it , it's title is Islamic and jewish both r related to religion not on racial conflict.
Or it's title should be israel-Arab nation Relation.
And I was not know about issued guide lines on this conflict. Rohit Mahra (talk) 04:05, 22 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
It does not matter what change you want to make to the page. It does not matter why you want to make it. It's good that your goal is neutrality—one of our pillars—but the rule is the same either way. Please stop talking about this topic, including on this user talk page, until you have reached 500 edits.
Also, please stop making logged-out edits to pages you have also edited while logged-in, as you have been doing on this IP range. Please see WP:LOUTSOCK for more information on why this violates policy. -- Tamzin[cetacean needed] (they|xe|🤷) 04:08, 22 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I want u plz modify as it because it may lead other to to think in a religious perspective but it is written in a political personalitie Rohit Mahra (talk) 04:24, 22 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

January 2025: Blocked

[edit]
Stop icon
You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for persistently making disruptive edits.
If you believe that there are good reasons for being unblocked, please review Wikipedia's guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text to the bottom of your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.   -- Tamzin[cetacean needed] (they|xe|🤷) 04:41, 22 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, Rohit. Based on the above conversation, it appears you're having difficulty following instructions, and other things like your move log show general issues in English proficiency. While the English Wikipedia is very much open to non-fluent speakers, we need to be able to have meaningful conversations with editors, and in this case I don't think that's possible. I would encourage you to contribute to the Wikipedia for your native language. I'm sure they'd be grateful to have you. -- Tamzin[cetacean needed] (they|xe|🤷) 04:41, 22 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

i am admit my weak vocabulary, due to my Indian diaspora. But now it is rising through the research of article or page of Wikipedia.
About my move logs i shifted her just 6 month ago and I accept , I was do log out edit only less than 10 times.

Request reason:

i was miserable about my acts but if you give a second chance to be an editor, I will much More sincere for my actions and edits. Rohit Mahra (talk) 08:53, 22 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

I would encourage you to edit the Wikipedia of your primary language- the English Wikipedia is not better than others- until your English skills improve. There is also the Simple English Wikipedia for those who are working on their English skills- perhaps that will help you improve as well. Good luck, but I must decline your request. 331dot (talk) 09:10, 22 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

I admit I was wrong, and I feel bad about my actions. After reading the Wikipedia guidelines, I contritution for skimming through your instructions as the administrator and made edits without logging in, which is a great fault of mine. :I promise this will not happen again. I will make sure to follow the rules and contribute to Wikipedia properly from now on.

Decline reason:

You lack sufficient ability to communicate in English to edit here. Please see WP:CIR. Yamla (talk) 19:43, 28 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
