So your telling me if a terrorist is arrested it's not a terrorist incident? All of you have got it wrong just because people never listed arrests in the older list's doesn't mean they can't be listed in 2010, but I'm not listing anything on that page anymore, there is not co-operation whatsoever and usually always arguments. I have nominated Timeline of the War on Terrorism, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Timeline of the War on Terrorism. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Eritrea-Ethiopia border skirmish

[edit]

May I suggest that you withdraw your proposed deletion of this article? Its clear that your proposal will not pass consensus, and you are wrong: It is not a claim made solely by Eritrea: Ethiopia states that 25 Eritrean soldiers were killed in a rebel attack, and that this was a cover-up by the Eritrean goverment, so its clear that something happened over there. Ah, well, nothing new in the horn of Africa.--RM (Be my friend) 03:32, 11 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

DYK nomination of 2001 Angola train attack

[edit]

Hello! Your submission of 2001 Angola train attack at the Did You Know nominations page has been reviewed, and there still are some issues that may need to be clarified. Please review the comment(s) underneath your nomination's entry and respond there as soon as possible. Thank you for contributing to Did You Know! Formatting bare-url refs can be done with this tool, but it fails on some sites and doesn't format well the Google books links - I usually use its output as a draft and complete the rest manually. Materialscientist (talk) 01:23, 25 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
The DYK police didn't like the 252 number as it differed from the BBC number. I found two reports here and here that say it was 250 which is probably an estimate. So I suggested another ALT that says around 250. What do you think?-- Esemono (talk) 09:38, 25 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

DYK for 2001 Angola train attack

Updated DYK query On March 27, 2010, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article 2001 Angola train attack, which you created or substantially expanded. You are welcome to check how many hits your article got while on the front page (here's how, quick check ) and add it to DYKSTATS if it got over 5,000. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page.

Ive created a basic shell for the article. It seems to be one of the largest actions against the pirates so far. It looks like the seychellian vessel engaged a captured dhow in combat, sunk it and rescued the crew. Then on the way back to port it was attacked by 3 more pirate vessels, sunk two of them and then finally made it back to port. Feel free to expand it. I'm busy today but will likely work on it a great deal tommorow.XavierGreen (talk) 21:44, 31 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

It also seems to be the first naval action ever fought by the seychelles which in itself would be notable.XavierGreen (talk) 21:45, 31 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

An editor has nominated one or more articles which you have created or worked on, for deletion. The nominated article is Timeline of the War on Terror. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also Wikipedia:Notability and "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Timeline of the War on Terror. Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.

Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 01:06, 27 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The article Nicola De Martino has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

This appears to be a WP:BLP1E. Aside from the suicide attempt, he appears to be a non-notable activist.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. AniMate 01:19, 12 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Neo-Nazism in Croatia

[edit]

Hi. Regarding your recent edit to this article, I'd like to note, first, that one of the pictures in question has been nominated for deletion on commons (by me) and that the request remains to be dealt with. If you object to its deletion on commons, the appropriate thing to do would be to take up the issue there. In my judgment, those pictures of non-notable individuals (including two children) are patently unethical and there is no case for their restoration - we don't want to create a situation where someone can say to either child, "Oh, you're that neo-Nazi Croatian kid with his picture on Wikipedia". Second, please note that your edit undid two of my edits to the article, and that one of them had nothing to do with the pictures. This edit simply changed the article to be consistent with the manual of style, and if you look through the article's history you'll see that its main effect was to undo an earlier change of mine and restore the wording to what it was before. Blocked

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for widespread copyright violations. If you would like to be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding below this notice the text {{unblock|Your reason here}}, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first. Nick-D (talk) 10:23, 29 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

.

Following up on the above warnings, I've just conducted some random checks of your recent edits and have found that a high proportion of them are text copied and pasted with no or only minor changes from news websites. This is totally unacceptable and you have been warned previously against this behaviour. Example diffs are: [1], [2], [3], [4]. These are from just the last few days, and in light of the warnings you've received for this over the last few months I've got no doubt that there are many more. As you cannot be trusted to not violate copyright I've set the block duration to indefinite. Nick-D (talk) 10:23, 29 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Further examples of blatant copyright violations: [5], [6], [7] Nick-D (talk) 11:02, 29 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I dont think he needs an indefinate block since hes a positive contributor as well, sure you may be right in that he has tiffs but a "warning" block of X hours is better than forcing good ITN editors out.Lihaas (talk) 11:37, 29 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you Lihaas. NickD is right, copyvios are always bad. My copyvio edits were made because of two reasons: no time for rewordings or as a mean to be initial edits and be reworded or better - expanded by others so the copyvio would disappear. NickDs voluntary work of checking those edits is worth of every praise.--DAI (Δ) 12:50, 29 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image File:Flag HOS.jpg

[edit]
⚠

Thanks for uploading File:Flag HOS.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Courcelles 04:03, 19 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Non-free rationale for File:Irbil.01.JPG

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Irbil.01.JPG. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 21:41, 27 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Persecution of Serbs and other non-Albanians in Kosovo until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. File permission problem with File:Hajduk-jugend.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Hajduk-jugend.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Kelly hi! 10:08, 10 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Eritreafiring.jpeg

[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Eritreafiring.jpeg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. --Stefan2 (talk) 22:51, 5 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Notice

The file File:Chuetsu earhquake, 2004.jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

unused, low-res, no obvious use

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.

This bot DID NOT nominate any file(s) for deletion; please refer to the page history of each individual file for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 01:03, 6 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not create hoaxes on Wikipedia, as you did at 2010 Ayn clashes. Doing so is considered to be vandalism and is prohibited. If you are interested in how accurate Wikipedia is, a more constructive test method would be to try to find inaccurate statements that are already in Wikipedia—and then to correct them if possible. If you would like to make test edits, please use the sandbox. Under section G3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, the page has been nominated for deletion. Repeated vandalism may result in the loss of editing privileges.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on 2010 Ayn clashes requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a real person or group of people that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator.
