    Shortcuts

    Requests for undeletion is a process intended to assist users in two cases. The first case is restoring pages or files that were uncontroversially deleted via proposed deletion, under certain speedy deletion criteria (such as maintenance deletions (G6) or stale Articles for creation drafts (G13)), or in deletion debates with little or no participation other than the nominator. In the second use case, this page is also intended to serve as a central location to request that deleted content be "userfied", i.e., restored as a draft or emailed to you; this way, the content can be improved upon prior to re-insertion into the mainspace, or used elsewhere (you may also make a request directly to one of the administrators listed here). Be clear as to which namespace is intended, when requesting the restoration of a deleted article.

    This means that content deleted after discussion – through deletion processes – may in some cases be provided to you, but such controversial page deletions will not be overturned through this process but through deletion review instead. Copyright violations and attack pages will not be provided.

    Do not request that pages or media deleted under speedy deletion criteria F7, F9, F11, U5, A7, A9, A11, G3, G4, G10, G11 or G12 be undeleted here.

    Not done – this page was deleted as a blatant advertisement under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion and Wikipedia is not to be used as a vehicle for promotion. This does not necessarily mean a suitable article on this topic cannot be created. If it is a notable topic, e.g., multiple reliable, secondary, published sources that are entirely independent of the subject have written about it in substantive detail (not just mere mentions), then a neutrally written article may be possible.     The page was in draftspace, not mainspace. WP:G11, the criterion applied to delete the draft, is applicable to drafts in userspace as well, so recreating the page in your userspace is no different.     Functional Decision Theory

    Summary: the article was recreated and speedy deleted without meeting speedy deletion criteria. In more details: The article was originally deleted at Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Functional_Decision_Theory in January, with the main reason being insufficient proof of notability. A few weeks ago, I came up on a recent news article talking about "Functional Decision Theory" from Wired, so I searched for the concept on Wikipedia and realized the page was deleted, so I created a new one from scratch, with additional sources to establish notability. It was immediately draftified by User:David Gerard as he claimed it is substantially similar to the previous one. I brought up that it doesn't meet the criteria for speedy deletion as per WP:G4, since it "applies to sufficiently identical copies, having any title, of a page deleted via its most recent deletion discussion. It excludes pages that are not substantially identical to the deleted version, and pages to which the reason for the deletion no longer applies". He responded that "has the same bad referencing: the sources about the topic are primary sources, and the reliable sources aren't actually about FDT". While I disagree (some of the new non-primary sources are about FDT), I added 4 new non-primary references talking about FDT, including a published book, and moved the article back to mainspace. He then speedy deleted it again. I contest this speedy deletion, as I think the article is now substantially different to at least merit a new AfD debate AND some of the added sources were published after the last AfD was closed. —7804j (talk) 06:08, 1 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

    Why a draft? He qualified as notable under the rules and is a historical figure. Restore the article in full, deleting the images that are on the commons related to the artticle just proves my point, there is a bias on this article that is un-justified. There are comic book characters and fictional movie characters with articles but because they have a popular following you are not removing them from the encyclopedia for non-popular views or clicks. I would like to add this image back into the Much (TV channel) article it was originally in as part of the channel's history, as it's still the most notable logo of this brand.     I previously created a draft article titled **"Saroj Kumar S"**, which was deleted under G11 (promotion). I understand that the original version may not have met Wikipedia’s standards regarding tone and neutrality.

    Since the deletion, I have completely rewritten the draft in an encyclopedic, neutral tone and included references to reliable, independent sources such as articles from **Youth Ki Awaaz**, **Vocal Media**, and **Medium**.

    I would like to respectfully request either:

    1. **Restoration of the deleted draft** so I may improve it further,

      • or**

    2. **Permission to recreate the article** from scratch using neutral and properly cited content.
